evo spanks carrera GT
I doubt My MS6 was more expensive, hell of a lot in rebates on em.

Don't get me wrong, a fast car is a fast car, but these days it just doesn't seem that special any more. I mean I can twin turbo a Camaro and spank Lambo's, Porsches, and Aston's all day. I tend like cars based on the "gotta have it factor" which tends to favor exotics. Damn them and their stratospheric price points!

2. It's the internet.
Couldn't agree more. The Evo is a common tuner toy where the CGT is a sophisticated machine that not everyone can or does have.
Guys, this wasn't some **** talking race where the CGT owner thought he had the fastest car around. The CGT owner likes to occasionally roll race and this was a race among friends.
The video was made months after the race by an hourly shophand from Buschur Racing who thought beating a CGT was some sort of accomplishment. No one was debating which car the entire parking lot would have rather had. The EVO could have spanked the CGT by a football field and nobody in our crowd would have changed their minds.

interesting thread.... I have a 300whp evo that's decently setup for track days and I had the pleasure of following a carrera GT that just happened to be in my run group around watkins glen. to say I got destroyed would be to put it mildly... forgetting the straight line acceleration where I obviously lose -- it's the lateral acceleration that blew me away. it could just dive into turns like nothing street legal that I've ever seen. I can hold my own against a stock 996 turbo (my realistic dream car) and did so most of the two day event -- but the CGT was unworldly.
I have the money to make my evo beat a CGT in a race like this video... but then I would never have the money to go do track days with all the added expense of more tires/gas/brakes and lower reliability.
I guess my point is that both are great cars to be enjoyed on a race track... it's almost ashame to see them wasted dangerously on the street.

OhioGT2 I would be interested in the results after the project (modding) of the S4 you mention in your sig. I would guess this will be a TT project?
Anyway seems interesting, I like Audi's.
