I talked a forum member into this race here in Cleveland a couple months back and was riding shotgun. The GT35R Evo ran a 9.9 at 143 on this same C16 tune, so it's no slouch. He also got a one and a half car jump during the first race when we hit the brakes and then got back on it during a miscue. The second run was clean and the Evo got us by 3+ cars. We were granny shifting and the evo was powershifting. We left in 2nd gear in both races and went to about 140 or so. The crazy thing was that the Evo still pulled us slightly when he shifted into 5th.

I believe the Ford GT in the first race dyno'd 600+whp with a couple minor mods and we would have been dead even if we weren't chasing.

Some of the comments in this thread crack me up

LOL, if it ran 9.9 @143 on that same tune, it has more than 598 rwhp. Or are you saying it wasnt this same evo?

me thinks the evo wouldn't hang more than one session on the track before something breaks. good for a couple straight blasts, but that's about it.
That Evo is a daily driver with 25k+ modded miles with weekly trips to the strip and monthly trips to road courses. I'm not a huge Evo fan, but I would love to see a modded 650whp+ Porsche go through the same abuse without breaking anything

Not on Buschur's Mustang dyno. His dyno reads low. He might have done a bit more on a later tune, but not much. The owner is also one of the best drag racers around....

I think posts like these are the reason many are leaving this board....

you know what the sad part is? there are little ricer lovers out there that would rather have the evo than the CGT

No doubt I would prefer a CGT over an evo. It was a cool video with some fast cars.

+1 To OhioGT2 He knows what he is talking about

The Carrera GT is based on:

The evo is based on:

While the modified evo is blazing fast .. it doesn't have the charm (or reliability) of the GT

I own a CGT and an Evo.

Evo is a great car, 4 doors, lots of boot, can drive it anywhere in any weather on any road. Its my workhorse in a far-away 3rd world country and i love it.

But comparing one to a GT drivability, handling, experience and all other little bits that make a great car a great car are just in a different league. Its like comparing Logitech to Mark Levinson, house in Siberia to Monaco estate or any other totally ridiculous comparison you might come up with.

Logitech might be made to play louder and house in siberia may be larger. WHO GIVES A ****? NO-ONE!
