Grille Screen
Looks great, trying to find more info. I saw one pcar with the grill coming from further out on the lip, as in the GT3 front end. My question is, can these also be placed further out. ie on the outer surface of the lip as apposed to the inner side?
i used powder coated stainless steel, i forget what guage. but its difficult to bend. but if you were to get a thinner guage.. perhaps you can squeeze it between the bumper and the black plastic intakes.
depending on the manufacturer, they can easily make the mold to have the front face of the grille come out more in reference to the back of the blacking plastic of the intakes. i think the grilles on the BS CLK63 are like that. but i've havent seen anything like that for the 7gt3.

I just picked a sheet of the 18ga expanded metal that daytonaviolet is using. Packaging is identical to picture in your Rennlist post # 29 from a year ago, however nowhere on the packaging does it state that it's SS.
DV can you comment on how you determined it is stainless steel? How has it held up over the last year?.... oops i just noticed that you've ditched the GT3... did you run this OSH screen long enough to comment on durability of the powdercoat and/or any corrsion on areas that it may have come off?

i also installed them on speedoflights car about the same time i did it on my car. last time i saw it (few weeks ago) it looks perfect like the day we installed it. no rusting, no cracking. i contated the manufacturer previously and they said it was SS and powerder coated. keep in mind that these were originally intended for chimney grilles
so i think it can handle the heat and force.

Got it, thanks. Will have to put this on the project list. One things for sure, this stuff will NOT dent or bend like some of the light gauge stuff pre-fab'd out there. Thanks for quick response DV.
Happy Holidays.

It's a must on all GT3 cars (tracked or not) and a known design flaw.
You will perforate your ac coolers in no time, ask me how I know

IMO, probably, more useful for a canyon carver with all the detritus blowing around that could get sucked into the ducts. Upstate NY, Fall colors, leaves aglow, leaves ablowing, leaves all over the highway, ...
