GT3 first gear redline speed

I've always been underwhelmed my Porsche first gears, so I'm curious about the GT3. With a much higher rev limit, how fast is a GT3 going at red line in first gear?

Above about 4000 rpm the cabin fills with a robust growl as the exhaust bypass opens up. Initially, you shift by sound at about 6000 rpm, and the engine feels impressive. But then you realize that you've got another 2400 rpm to play with, and when you push into the upper reaches of the power band, there's an awakening at 6000 rpm. The engine absolutely shrieks to the 8400-rpm redline. Anyone listening on the outside is treated to a fantastic race-quality wail. Your neighbors will hate you. Your neighbors' kids will love you.

I know I didn't answer your question... but you know...

My RS has software+exhaust+18" wheels (vs. 19" stock). So it revs and accelerates way faster than it did stock. 1st gear is extremely quick and short. So quick, that I can only guess at the top speed (too focused on the yellow "!"). I think its high 30's or so. IMO, 2nd and 3rd are the best gears.

That's not much different than my turbo. I thought you guys might be getting to 60mph with 8400 rpm's.

I just ran a speed calculator based on tire diameter of 21", 1st gear ratio of 3.82:1, final drive of 3.44:1 and got approximately 40mph at 8400 rpm. So my guess was close.

Check the owners manual

I recall redline in 1st gear was about 80kmh, about 50mph. Of course, it's really much too busy in first gear between 6000 and 8000 to really notice.

45mph is about right. Getting there with hard-working naturally aspirated power is quite different from the TT though.

1st gear is way more fun in the GT3 than it was in my 996TT.

I don't doubt that. I wonder how PDK will change the experience of approaching redline in lower gears?
