LSD buster
Yoo bad I don't have a large barn or garage. It will be a blast to do a weekend worth of mods and hang out with fellow Porsche nuts helping each other with brakes, LSD, battery, seats, roll bars, exhaust mods etc..
I spent the first 30 years of my life out there. I grew up in Foster City, graduated from San Mateo High School in 1989 and then went to college at UC Berkeley. I didn't leave until 2001 when I got a job offer that I couldn't refuse in the industry I used to work in prior to getting into the Porsche game.

Just thought I would post a little feedback that was given to us by one of the members here after he got his LSD back in his car. This is on the 40/60 ramps. You're reading that right. He picked up nearly 4 seconds a lap!!!

Matt , Here is the GT3 lap time before we installed the LSD on the GT3 http://www.mylaps.com/results/showrun.jsp?id=1437258 Position 2
2:25.729 sec lap time the cars alignment was in specs
Keep in mind the evo that got the fastest time is a full striped out race car with dunlop slicks on Track was not dusty!!
This is after we installed Gaurds LSD...

Position 1 2:21.844 secs... After gaurds.. alignment out of specs..
Faster than the fully striped out evo.. on a dusty track!!!
You can quote me on this

Oil screen question
Great photos and explanation. Wish I had seen it before I removed my breech baby differential last year
Regarding the oil tube and screen that reside in the trans case, under the diff....
I pulled out the phillips head screw (visible only in the photo of the case with the differential removed) and pulled rearward on the screen/tube assembly with moderate force, but could not get the screen out to clean it. Note that I was pulling on the part blind, i.e. I can't see it, I can only feel it.
I must be doing something wrong. Any advice??

Rebuilding the differential is actually not that difficult. I hadn't done a differential since high school auto shop, but I figured it out. If one can remove the diff from the trans, I think one can rebuild a diff.
Most of the parts only go in one way. The only problem was getting the ring gear bolts off. I made soft jaws to hold the diff body from 2x10 lumber and clamped it all in my bench vise.
