Akrapovic Evolution Race

I got my car back in Dec and the previous owner installed an exhaust that I didn't quite like. I had no idea what exhaust it is and I had my mind set on getting Akrapovic even before I got the car. So in Feb, I pulled the trigger and got the Akrapovic Evolution Race exhaust. I am sure we have read about this over and over... but let me say it again: The quality of this exhaust is just unbelievably good. It's like a piece of art. Fitment is perfect. Welds are beautiful. Here are some pics of the exhaust:

This was a pic right after it was installed:

After the exhaust was installed, I wasn't too used to the increased noise levels at first. I thought I would order the side mufflers very soon. However, after a few days of driving, let me tell you I don't want it any other way. The sound is just intoxicating. When you push it, the car just screams! I have watched a lot of vids of the Evolution Race but the vids don't do this exhaust justice. Everytime I drive this car, it puts a huge on my face! As for power gains, I did not do any dyno's. But I can feel that the car is definitely pulling harder. The revs goes up much faster especially after 5.5k rpms. I just love this exhaust and would recommend it to anyone who's looking to upgrade their exhaust system!

One more thing that is great about these titanium exhausts.. They look way better after being driven hard and been through heat cycles! Look at these!

Finally, just want to say thanks to Simon@Renn Spec as he was the one who helped me got all the parts and have them shipped to Hong Kong very quickly. He just has the best customer service!

I know full well of the art that you speak of. I have the Titanium Evo on my Hayabusa. Upon initial installation, there was absolutely no need for any adjustments. All welds were impeccable without fault as if a space-age robot had welded them. From front to back the fit was PERFECT beyond anything I had ever experienced.

While others had recommended steering away because of the kit being more expensive over others, when I paid out I only knew when I combed through on pre-install that I had received ALL and MORE than I had ever imagined!

And when I fired it up,,, well, I actually swore I had just taken a bite of a warm slice of apple pie fresh out of the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The sound melted in my mouth. Mmmmm,,,

A-Krop A`Vic . More than amazing!

I'm considering this on my 07 RS. My only concern is whether this system will meet the +/- 103 db requirement at most of the tracks the car will be used at. Do you or does anyone else using this system know what the db readings are at the track?

I don't know the db level for this set up however if I remember correctly, member mikymu had a thread that documented his installation of the exhaust and he tried different combinations (Evo Race, Evo, Akra headers + Sharkwerks bypass, etc.) and he had vids and recorded db levels. Perhaps you can do a search for his post for more details!

I'm wondering if they will make a full system for the 996?

Anything that removes the side mufflers is going to be over the 103db limit... Our bypass alone almost gets there (closer to 101 etc..). There's a good few folks in OZ using our systems and they've been ok.
