From 5 to 1. Centerlock Conversion - GT3RS Wheels.
Of all places, I forgot to post up on the 6.
A few months ago we completed the first stage of Project 997TT Cab. I hand picked the round of mods for this car based around the idea that it should be clean, a daily driver, subtle - but unique enough to stand out to those in the know. That being said - the first stage consisted of:
The "basic" mods were a slam dunk for install. I've been in the aftermarket / tuning industry for over 15 years now so I have a pretty good idea where and where NOT to take a vehicle, but when it comes to a full centerlock conversion, particularly on a rather expensive vehicle - I wanted only the best. I reached out to my friends at BBi who are Porsche specialists and spoke with Betim and Joey. They've been working on Porsche's for a minute and after speaking with Joey I really felt comfortable that they were the right ones for the install - After all, they do work on ALMS cars so they're very familiar with the centerlock setup.
We used my wifes Cayenne to transport the parts to BBi. Appropriate right?

Fitting wheels and tires separately proved to be a bit of a challenge, but we were able to work it out.

We had to use some space in the TT Cab as well LOL. TechArt Spoiler sitting passenger.

We arrived at BBi and Joey took a quick inventory to make sure we had all the parts necessary for the conversion. The OEM Centerlock Conversion kit was purchased from Suncoast (sincerely the cheapest place around to buy OEM Parts) they did a great job of ensuring we had the PCCB specific kit as well as making sure all part#'s were accurate and fitment was correct.
You can find the centerlock conversion kit pricing here

Quick shot of one side of the conversion kit.

I opted to go with the GT3RS wheels because I prefer the look over the standard Turbo S centerlocks - also, how often do you see a TTCab with GT3RS wheels?? Not so much

Two last shots, stock - no mods.

Did I mention that BBi works with racecars? LOL.

I'm not going to provide a step by step (nor could I honestly) so here's a few shots of the break down.

Joey's got forearms like Wolverine LOL from working on cars everyday.

Throughout the breakdown Joey explained what he was doing, he really really really knows his stuff. . Deliberate, detailed, focused = in the zone.

Attention to detail:Once Joey separated the parts he dropped them into an ultrasonic cleaning machine. Not needed but always nice to know that things like this are taken care of.

PCCB's...lightweight frisbees.

This

Plus this

= This

Big diff...

Completed.

Rear 3/4 showing the TechArt wing and 997.2 LED Taillights.
I can't say enough about the team at BBi. Like I mentioned earlier, I've been in the industry for sometime and I've heard and seen it all - these guys are the real deal. They walk the walk and talk the talk.
NOTE: This was not a sponsored project, we paid full tote just like the average consumer, we simply wanted it done RIGHT. I could've called a few places and got the work done for free or at heavy discount, but in the end I chose the place that I felt would knew the vehicle and parts best.
Stay tuned for the next stage on Project 997TT Cab.

^^^Second that...
Lowering is going to look nice, but the only thing I dislike about Centerlocks is you cant run a spacer. With the OEM offsets and lowered, they are going to still have 15-18mm to flush them to the fenders. Anyway around this?
Looks great BTW! Was waiting for someone to do this.

Wow, never thought I would see this. In fact I figured I would see a lot of CL conversions to 5 lug to avoid the pain of the OE CL mechanism and being able to go to someone besides your dealer to get your tires changed. I really do not understand the point of doing this.

+1 I do think it looks great, but man you have no idea how much of a pain in the *** these things are. 5 lug>1 lug any day of the week.
I really don't understand the point of doing this... especially on a Turbo Cab....
that's the point!

Appreciate everyones opinions - it's been a minute since I've been on the 6 this place has grown LOL.
But it does look great!

Looks great, one of my favorite Porsche OEM wheels to date. Not sure how they will fill the fenders once you add a drop but again nice work.
Question how to the GT3 RS wheel sizes/offsets compare to that of ordering a custom set of wheels for a TT.
Also where did you buy the wheels?
