I have a great idea, give me your allocation at sticker and wait for the 991, that way we will both be happy!

Another $10k will get you shocks that will blow away the factory 4.0 RS stuff. So $35k gets you a 3.8 RS (assuming that's what you own) that's as light as a 4.0 RS and will outhandle it on the track while still keeping $45k in the wallet. As for the power difference, you'll never miss it unless you're on track.
I agree with you! Though I don't think 20 lbs is worth $14k You can save more by getting a full Ti exhaust for a little less and at the right end of the car.

+1 on suspension. For about $15k you get one of the best suspension system available on the market including all solid joints and monoballs.

The 4.0 IMO will be a collectors car due to limited availibilty and last Metzger engine. I would take the 4.0 because of that and the fact that the length of time between now and when the 991 GT3 comes is so far away. When the 991 GT3 comes are you going to ask if you should wait for an RS version on the car? When does the waiting end?

Also can anybody who has driven 3.8 and 4.0 give me an idea of engine/power differences in terms of how they feel? Do you think the 4.0RS will take a financial nosedive?
If you decided to buy the 991, May I take your order of the 4.0?
