PCCB Advice

Im considering running Pagid Green P50 pads for my 997 GT2 PCCB brakes because I used to run the stock OEM pads but the last time on the track they got burned and their performance on the track weren't that good.

For this season I got SS brake lines and Castrol SRF brake fluid and would like to run the Pagid P50 Green pads as these are they only ones that Porsche Motor sports recommend for PCCB.

But I've searched regarding this matter and couldn't get a definite answer on what pads to run ? and I don't want to change my PCCB's to steel rotors.

So should I run stock pads or the Pagid P50 Green pads for the track ?

Last thing does the 997 GT2 have rear brake ducts or not ?

Thanks

Im no expert in the subject although, over the last bit of research Ive been conducting all I keep reading is people saying stock pads are in best interest of the rotor

as I said im not an expert tho, and I have only ever gone with the stock pads

Like 'lopro' I'm no expert. I`ve done about 10 DE days on my stock pads and PCCB with excellent results - only moderate pad wear and excellent braking throughout the sessions. I use Motul 600 brake fluid and everything else stock. Of course, here in the Pacific Northwest, track days are likely somewhat cooler than those in Kuwait and my GT3 may not see the top speeds and demands on braking that your GT2 does. I would rather sacrifice pads than the expensive CC rotors so I will continue with the stock pads.

997.2 GT3s have rear ducts. I don`t know about GT2s. It should be a simple matter for you to look under the car in front of the rear wheels towards the rear to confirm. They protrude below the flat pan section just inboard of each wheel.

Hi

the 997 GT2 has no brake ducts on the rear but you can upgrade it with the ones from the GT3 as I did also, for the PCCB brakes the are fine on the track if you give them the time to cool down after the last lap as I did always so mine have no issues. i also use SS brake lines and Castrol SFR but still the stock pads, i did about 1000km on track and 20000km in total on there car. Still did not change the pads

greetings

FWIW, my 2008 997 GT2 (US model, if there is such a thing) does have rear brake ducts. I don't know if they were standard equipment or special order, but they are there.

I have the Pagid P50 Greens. I track with a Porsche Cup car racing team who also own a Porsche performance shop and they recommended that I run them on my PCCB's. They also said the the P50's are the OEM cup car brake pads as well. There's a little bit less initial bite on the street. I have not tried them on the track yet as it's winter now. BTW, I'm also running Castrol SRF.

My OEM PCCB pads lasted about 6 track days. I think that's pretty good wear if you ask me but I wanted something more.
