Yes, most or all car paints now have a clear coat applied to the base color coat. I'd say that a solid color paint will probably stand up better over time than a metallic paint since metallic can sometimes tend to bake off the clear coat in hot sunny climates. And metallic colors can be a PITA to match if any touch up is required in future.

When you want to get on the throttle hard and early coming out of a corner. For a track car it's a must

The white is a nice solid white but Subaru's white is much nicer with its half-pearly half-metallic finish.

Short answer: you don't.

Long answer: it does make a difference.

I have torque vectoring on both axles on my Acura MDX (yes, really, the lowly Acura, LOL). It does really work. If you're in the corner and you get on the gas, the yaw moment created by only powering that outside rear wheel is real and noticeable. My car has about 60% or more of it's weight on it's nose. Yet it does not plow when you get on the gas. The effect is remarkable.

I have to believe it'll make the Macan truly dance.

It does not compare to pure white, IMO. I have had the occasion to own (and regret) this kind of mixed paint color in an Acura, which had me wishing for just white. The pearly look had a tendency to show up in different shades/hues under different lighting conditions, which I think was the intended "plus", but the big minus was that there were times in certain lighting conditions when I disliked the resultant hue! Big lesson learned was that if I want white, I would stick with pure solid white and not a version of white mixed with another hue/texture! Just a personal experience.

You have to ask yourself if you want it or not. Not one single option is "needed".

I would always want the adaptive cruise control, not only on the Macan, but on every car I use as a daily driver.

One thing to note is that in some countries (e.g. UK) the standard (non-adaptive) cruise control is also a cost option. So make sure you have what you need, do not assume any feature is standard (e.g. swivelling headlights, vanity mirror lights, seat memory etc)

Without being an *** i must ask, when did electronic nannies become a must for sports oriented cars? I've driven big hp machines (all approaching 500hp) for my last 3 vehicles, and if i can turn the nannies off on clean roads, its the first thing i do. I really believe we should learn to drive with skill, not supervision. Try to imagine what an '84 911T required to keep straight vs a Macan without "vectoring".

/rant off.

The blue you ordered. Are they the same colour as shown on the commercial YouTube?
