This is a ridiculous unnecessary added risk that Summit Point needs do attend to...perhaps arming the corner workers on the towers. If every deer left the planet tomorrow it would not be soon enough. This driver is lucky to have survived...many commuters give their life each year so these stupid animals can run wild so that hunters can shoot a few of them....stupid, stupid, stupid...

Deer are the most dangerous creatures on the planet...more than sharks, snakes, or crocs. Seriously I'm not kidding. The national institute of crash safety and Insurance has said that deer apparently cause more deaths per capita on the planet then ANY OTHER animal on earth.

I was there this weekend and although I didn't see any deer, I did see another damned groundhog... Somewhere in the archives there is a story of me turning one inside out at 137mph (traqmate verified) on the front straight in 2008.
No controlling the wildlife out there. Would cost them millions to surround the compound with 12ft. high fencing...

Sunir, It's because people don't know how to drive. You can't "Dodge" deer and hope to not hit trees, oncoming traffic and other "stuff".
Hitting a deer at highway speeds won'd kill you. It isn't much more than striking a dog. It's when people do stupid things with the steering wheel that things go horribly wrong, which leads to my first comment above.

hitting the gas vs the brake helps if you are in a reg car. (most cars here are too stiff..lol) hitting the brake lowers ther front end and most that dont die from swirving and hitting trees, die because the deer comes through the window.
I read somewhere that the Germans were made to increae the hood line of thier cars from all the deaths a few years back. (?) Notice how "taller the new M3, M5 is vs the old. Even the ford taurus is tall now.
