My work is transferring my fiance and I to the Detroit suburbs. I'll miss the Chi and all of our friends/family there.

Hope to meet some of you guys in the Northern suburbs.

 

Welcome to the D. At least chi town is only a 4 hr drive or so. We like doing weekend trips there for that reason. Good luck with the move, that is never fun.

 

yup, I intend to return to the Chi from time to time to visit friends and family. Are there any nice driving roads north of Detroit? How about over the border in Canada?

20 min. north of Detroit here. I have friends from high school that made the move to Chicago few years ago and I get there as often as I can. I know of some very sweet roads for sat./sun. drives. Don't be a stranger let me know once you're settled.

 

Cool, no problem. We will definitely need to make some new friends in the area. We really don't know anyone up there. We will likely end up in the Troy area.

I'll probably through a spring BBQ. No better way to meet people than by grillin and chillin in the garage/driveway.

We were in town Saturday to check a few places. It was no contest to our first choice. Although the model we thought we would love turned out to be terrible. We ended up choosing a townhouse layout.

Seems we will be back again mid February to sign the lease and drop off a car load of stuff. Then, get the moving truck to bring the remaining batch of stuff and trailer the S2000 to the new home the following week.

I expect we will be settled in the first week of March

 

My birthday is March 8th. I'll show you around the town and we drink!

Yo man welcome to Detroit! There is a lot of fun stuff to do! We can possibly have a get together when you get all settled in. I would like to meet some of the Detroit local guys myself. LOL Where abouts are you moving? North Detroit Burbs? West side? or East side!?
