Battery replacement

The Cayman has a dead one. Any recommendations for a brand or place to get a new battery?

Costco has served me well for 2 or my Porsches. Can't beet the price. Their batteries are the exact same as Interstate batteries.

I've used Optima batteries back in the days when I had Japanese car, but since I moved to Euro, BMW & Porsche; it has been challenging to figure out the proper unit to fit or incompatible for Euro models.

Optima batteries are just awesome!

I've heard that, but where do you get one around here? Their site doesn't really help with finding the right part number either.

We sell an awful lot of the Braille lightweight batteries. Give me a call if interested.

Costco sell the Optima batteries as well. If I remeber correctly, they are double the cost of their standard battery. I was going to put one in my 993, but could not find one with the post in the correct location.

You can get an Optima at any Action Auto, that's what I always did. Big money though

This goes way back, I forgot to turn off the parking lights on my old Honda Accord but guess what? after 8hrs of constant parking lights, car started w/o problems.

Optima batteries rule! (especially the yellow top model)

And yes, you can get 'em @ Costco or Auto stores.

Based on Consumer Report tests, availability & price, the NAPA batteries are a good choice. They have the size and weight of a standard, wet cell design. But will have more amps than some of the trick, light weight batteries. They fit with no mods or special trays.

Jeff,

Go to Barrier, they will give you a new one for free. I just did it and my battery was over 2 years old. They didn't even ask questions, they just took my battery and gave me a new one.
