4s vs mb cl550

ive been posting about wifes replacement for audi a8l for while now and its between 4s and cl550.

drove the 4s yesterday and impressed. it looks good from all angles and is very substantial. interior is very luxurious esp in light colors and wood trim. little cramped legroom in back though. overall, seems like a heavier version of son's audi s4 in a good way.

comes down to practicality of 4 door porsche vs glamour of really beautiful mb coupe. not sure which way to go but will have to decide soon

the CL is also nice but..

do u find 4 doors useful?
does your wife prefer sport over comfort?
do you want to drive the car instead of the car driving you?

only one answer then...

yes 4 doors are helpful ie. when going out with other couples. wife doesnt care too much about way drives, mostly about way looks and i would only drive it occasionally. btw, her choice if i had no say would be nissan cube. try understanding women!

my best advice: be a man and decide it (for her) before a Cube makes your driveway look ugly, both (Pana, CL) are great cars!

jmac is infamous around these parts
Seriously, I don't think it is a fair comparison. I see a lot of CLs around, and although they're a beautiful car, they are very Mercedes and don't exactly stand out if you know what I mean.

The Panamera, on the other hand, screams "I'm different". Stylistically, you really can't compare them. The Panamera wins, hands down, in my opinion...

thats very surprising about cl's being common place in toronto. i live in ny where an s550 is like a toyota corolla yet ive only seen about 2 cl's in last year.

i am so confused, are you talking about CLS or CL? I thought you were talking about 4dr (CLS) not coupe (CL).

considering CLS, panamera wins as far as uniqueness is concerned. (somewhat outdated)

I agree, I rarely see CL's but really how can the two be compared, i mean come on....The Panamera certainly will be the drivers car, but the CL is by far the beauty of these two....Panamera is just soo wrong...FUGLY

Have you seen the car in person? Most that saw the car were surprised by the difference between the car and the pictures. I have not spend a lot of time looking at MB before(mostly because there are just too many around). But I went to look at it last night, it look nice, but it isn’t exciting to me. Like the lower front treatment of the new S- class, similar design to 911 turbo.
