It's on the list to test along with the Panamera. While I like the AWD and performance of the Pan as well as the cargo space the XJ (I'd be looking at the standard wheelbase version) would be a good 30-40k less and has a very nice interior as well.

agree that it needs AWD to compete with the other sedans for sales.

Still looks like a dressed up Ford to me.

The Jag will not even come close to the Porsche in fit, finish, performance, distinctive(ness), or storage space.

Well looks is a personal topic but i personally hate the side profile and back side of the panamera. looks so bloated.

As far as fit and finish is concerned you should make that statement after driving one and not from the mindset of a panamera owner but from a completely unbiased mindset.

The XJ Supercharged costs about the same as the Panamera S but is quicker to 60

I am biased...I have never liked Jags nor Mercedes. Are you kidding me with your argument on performance? They need a blower to beat the Panamera S?

Isnt this posted in the wrong thread? There is a thread for Jags...it is called "other British cars".

Great looking vehicle. I am very impressed by the new Jaguar lineup. That rear seat looks great.

I think they hit a home run on this car. If I was buying a luxury sedan right now I would get this. I drove the Panamera 4s at my dealer and just didnt care for it. The new jag is gorgeous. I do wish they offered in AWD.

I'd take an XJ over the panamera. I'm sure i'd change my mind if the porsche looked a little bit less homely though.

So many choices now for sedans, Panamera Turbo or spring for a little more and go with the Aston Martin Rapide. If Jaguar stays with their current pricing you should be able to get a supercharged XJ for about the same as a Panamera S, it that case I would pick the XJ.

Love the XJ styling! Never been a fan of big sedans minus the traditional shifter in the center console.... S class has shifter on the column and BMW just brought it back to where it should be in the 7 series.

I have grown to really like the Panamera's looks (needs better looking wheels on ANY model though....) when I was originally one of the naysayers.

The Jag will probably depreciate fast and deep the first couple years but if it's priced like a Panamera S it will be pretty attractive to some for that reason.
