pan 4s PASM air susp issues

P4s 7k miles and getting error messages when changing car level from sport to sport plus or comfort. Sometimes cannot raise car at speed bump etc. Get error message "not possible" and occasionally "chassis failure!" which clears immediately.
Anyone similar issues. Will have to bring car in to dealer but wonder if it is a program issue or worse.

I'd take it in, no questions. The only way that I've seen the not possible is when I'm a little inclined with respect to the ground. I guess is too much pressure to the suspension and it rather not do it.

The changing between modes is not normal at all and I would say ther us a mechanical problem, not just programming.

Take it and report back?

I had the same problem twice with my 4S 2011, and with "chassis failure". Once, it was fixed by the dealer and was a program issue. Second time, it fixed itself spontaneously. Bring it to the dealer but you shouldn't be worried.

Just checking that people are aware that the airmatic must be locked before lifting tge car feg to change tires: hold raise vehicle button pressed until you get a message that its off.

Your problems are not normal, take it to the shop.

Me too.

I've had the very same problem with my 4S. First time it happened, dealer said "Hmm..., that's odd. Let us know if it happens again." The problem cleared itself as soon as I left the car overnight. Next day, problem gone.

Fast forward a few months - it just did it again a couple of weeks ago. I took it to dealer, as it was having other quirky problems - all electrical. This time dealer replaced a control module, reprogrammed some software, and said "There! All fixed." The problems haven't reappeared - yet. Only time will tell if they're actually fixed.

One thought about the "not possible" message -- were you trying to raise the suspension while in Sport Plus (lowest) setting? It won't let you do that. The car has to be in "Sport" or "Comfort" to be able to raise it up.

Can't remember as it was a long time ago, I might've had it in sport plus for all I know, as I always leave the house with it on.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't know that.

Not neccessarily. i have PTT and it works if u wanna raise the car, using the temporary lift mode, while the car is in the sport plus setting.

Your suspension is different from mine. In my '10 P4S it won't go into the highest suspension setting when in Sport Plus. (I don't have Sport Chrono - maybe that makes a difference?)

Update. Major pasm failure. Good news new compressor for pasm and new fluid and new relay. Dealer fixed in 24 hours. Now good as new. FYI manual car lift should work while can is in any mode. Ie comfort. Sport. Or sport plus.
