My PTT stalled!!! 3 times
My PTT stalled!!! 3 times
The other night I parked the car on the meter, I came back 2 hours later. I started the car; after a vibration and very fluctuating RPM needle, it stalled within 2-3 seconds. I started again, this time stalled within 1-2 seconds. Third time I started and stalled right away. I opened the hood looked around; I checked the gages, everything seemed fine. Gas light was on but it turned on literally when I was parking so I had more than enough gas to start the car.
I let it sit 5 minutes, I started again. Boom started right up. No problems at all.
Any chance that the gas would have dirt or something similar?? It felt so much like a fuel problem (injection, pump, etc) rather than electrical.
Did this happen to anyone else here? 2010 Panamera Turbo. I already had the recall done on the fuel pump (if I'm not mistaken it was fuel pump, I can't remember the bulletin code etc)

If you're low on fuel, then I think your analysis is correct, poor fuel feed due to contamination, perhaps the fuel filter got some gunk in it which drained away in those five minutes, may still be worth having the service dept. check it.

Have had the same experience on my P4S. Went to the airport to collect my mum - 3 hours drive, 2 at good cruising speed, one in city traffic. Parked about 15 minutes at O'Hare and got back in and it would not start. Cranked correctly(not a battery issue) but would not settle down and run. Tried multiple times to no avail, had multiple stalls. Was about to call Porsche to get towed to the dealership and made arrangements for a substitute service car. Cranked again and it fired. Drove to porsche. Turned it off and it subsequently re-fired, I drove the 150 miles home uneventfully. This was a month ago. It has not misbehaved since. Mechanic was wondering whether my fuel batch had too much ethanol and this somehow was the reason the hot car would not start since I nearly only use MObil and I had just refuelled a nearly empty tank that morning. there was also a question of the quality of that batch of fuel. I got to the dealer after the garage had closed on Saturday and did not want to leave the car there and took my chances.I must mention to their credit that they offered to hold the car and look into it, since what we have as possible causes are just postulates and not facts after examining the car. It's still running, but it sure can be embarrassing if not annoying when that occurs.

Reread your thread. Empty tank is probably related to the problem on way or another.

The car runs perfectly normal now. It's so easy to remove if needed in case I go to the dealer. I'll keep you guys posted
Exact same experience of problem as mine. I drove the car since that day without any problems. Probably bad gas. I lived in Boston, MA before with no fuel problems.
Maybe here in Miami, gas is not as good I have no idea since I'm really new here.

Keep us posted and good luck.
Check out 30:15mins
So if the hp increases in a similar ratio, a PTT with 500bhp with 95 octane has about 510bhp with Vpower. I wonder what it is in reality?
There is also an older episode on this, where they show the biggest gains are in turbocharged high performance cars:

Small update on the issue, the car has been connected to the computer at the dealer. However the car had not registered any errors. They said this might be because it only happened once, it has to happen more than 3 "different" times for the ECU to register it as an error. Not back to back as was in my case.
And it didn't happen since then. So I just assume bad gas..
