GIAC or sport CHRONO upgrade

bought a 2010 turbo only 6k for miles- with 153k sticker- plus tech art body kit and some nice 8k- 22" wheels. The option car doesn't have is sports chrono package.
Do i spend 3k for GIAC tune and forget chrono
or add via aftermarket or both????
thoughts?

Adding the sport plus does a lot more than just increasing power and in my opinion is necessary if you plan on any spirited driving. However I don't think you can add it to your car as it says it's only available to cars with PCM 3.1 and unless yours has been updated over mine (also a 2010) it wouldn't be compatible without additional work.

not sure. the strange thing with this car is when i hit the SPORTS button
and set the suspension settings twice, the cluster in dash reads SPORTS PLUS
perhaps it's had some software updates??? there is no sports plus button.

I suggest you contact GIAC or one of their experienced dealers and ask them the question . Can you activate launch control?

Pressing the PASM button only affects your suspension. Your car is still in sport mode. Sport plus has a very aggressive gearing. It won't upshift unless you're near redline.

thx understood
still not sure why in the cluster it reads "sports" plus" and thus far nobody else does either. shifts are aggressive but not at redline, maybe 65% of it.

i did make the move and ordered the sports plus after market software from sun coast.
hopefully this will correct some of the turbo lag--- i'll drive in sports plus 75% of the time
overall the car is FANTASTIC however i'm a bit underwhelmed with the response and power when out of "sports mode"
pretty sure a tune of some type will be in order pretty soon

The dissapointment you express when out of the Sport or Sport Plus modes is actually a good thing in my view. When driving in the everyday mundane world, it is nice to have a relatively mild and somewhat more tame car. But I must say that I do like the ability to, at the mere push of a button, completly transform the car's personality. That is one of the enjoyable things about the PTT - it has a very naughty side for those times when you just want to step out and bring a grin to your face (or a tear to the suprised hot rod driver that was next to you at the light!). Enjoy it and let us know how your upgrade worked out - if it is anything like my Sport Plus, you will not be dissapointed.
