Panamera baby friendly?

Shopping for the wife's new car and have a question for panamera owners. We need a car for the wife that will be baby friendly. Something with ability to have car seats and enough cargo space for the baby stuff. Is a panamera a good option? Anyone with kids in a car seat have a panamera? Is the panamera something to consider if we must be able to fit a car seat or seats in a year or two? Thanks!

I've had 2 car seats in my panamera for years now. the trunk is also big enough for a a couple city strollers or one bigger stroller (our bugaboo fits no problem).

What do you use to avoid creasing the leather?

I have a Porsche car seat for my 3.5 year old and I love it. Fits perfectly and looks nice and plenty of space on the back.

As far as trunk space, we haven't been using our stroller lately, however depending on your stroller you may or may not have an issues with your cargo space. Overall as far as practicality goes for using it with kids I'd rate Panamera 7 (10 being highest) and mainly because of a smaller trunk.

So if you don't deal with strollers or your stroller is compact, then this would be a great car for your wife.

I am using Diono Radian RXT, it fits perfectly in Panamera's rear seat. There is also another company call Clek, they also make slim car seat that should fit in Panamera.

As for car seat protector, I am using Prince Lionheart 2 Stage Seatsaver. The padding is thick enough without being bulky to protect the leather seat. It will actually "molds" into the shape of the Panamera seat and catch cookie crumbs and other stuff falling off from the baby- Of course I learned this from my van, not from Panamera, since no food allow lol.

My son is 3 now, so we barely using stroller. We have/had Baby Jogger City Mini GT & UPPAbaby G-Luxe, both will fit in Panamera's trunk diagonally.

Hope it helps.

I drive a 2011 Panamera Turbo.

I have a 3 year old and a 2 year old. I've put both seats the Primo Viaggio Convertible for the 2 year old, and the Viaggio HBB 120 for the 3 year old. Absolutely no problems. It was a bit tight to get the seats in because of the limited space in the rear (as opposed to a bench style seating in our GL350) - but once the seats were in, the fit very well and snug. The only issue is that they will dent/deform the the leather, and my three year old kept kicking the seats and trying to play with the rear console., so you have to be careful. As for the trunk storage, I can only fit the stroller in because I have the Burmeister and these trunks are a bit shallow to allow for the subwoofer.

The car is more practical that I thought it would be. The Panamera is my DD, while my wife drives the GL350. But if you have to say, load up the kids with a stroller and do a grocery run, I think the trunk space would let you down...but I think the bigger questions is the wear and tear/mess that kids inflict on back seats.

My experience is that an SUV just works better with the kids and all the stuff that you have to take when travelling.

Thanks for your thoughts. It's the denting of the leather that has me concerned. I put our child seats back there once, months ago, and you can still see lines in the leather on the back and sides. Ah well. Guess I should've gotten a 911 since they won't be back there.

Out of curiosity, does this happen with non leather seats too?

Yes, after all "P" is for Porsche

-Ordered my 2011 PanS when my granddaughter was 1 yo
- It finally arrived when she was 14 mos, stood her up on my lap through the open sunroof (no, not when I was driving ) , she loved it
- got the CLEK car seat, the one with the monkey (Mimi wouldn't let me buy the brown leather one they made which would have matched my espresso leather )' it works great, clicks into the LATCH connectors every time
- once when she about 4 yo she was riding with me she says "Papa your car smells good", so it reinforced my option choice on the all leather espresso and olive trim
- the car is low, so toddlers can easily get in and out, yay!
- you can lay them down in the back hatch to change a diaper at the car show
- her little footprints on the back of the drivers seat were a concern at first, but now my concern is she is growing up so fast that I will miss those little footprints way too soon
- I think she will remember this car when she is older, I still remember my Dads MB 4 door in like '62
- note to self, I need to start looking for an air cooled 911 to give her when she turn 16.....
- your child will get picked up from daycare, school etc, in a 4 door sports car, not the SUV of the month!
- she knows that P is for Porsche!

The is no substitute for the children, you can't go wrong.

Papa

for your necessity the cayenne suits better or the new macan . They are way safer in terms of inpact , high ground clereance and bigger interior (cayenne).
