Hood lid cable broken - emergency release ?

Pulling the hood latch today snapped the cable on my Panamera 2010

Is there an emergency release somewhere ? Maybe underneath one of the front inner plastic fenders ?

Found on rennlist
Figured it out. The plastic retainer clip was broke on my hood release, so my cable just came out. Took out front grill, push hand through air scoop for radiator, was able to reach around and put the cable back in.

No emergency release. You will have to remove the release lever and, if necessary, the door sill to access the cable. There is a bracket behind the lever that holds the cable.

Remove lever for front lid release -1- .
1. 1.1. Release lock -2- using a small screwdriver -A- .
2. 1.2. Remove lever for front lid release -1- (-B- ).

Okay, what about getting the grey lid behind it off to get to the assemply ? Is it just the regular spring loaded plugs that needs to be pulled out?

Two screws holding it...

Then, pivot the top down towards the center of the car. There is a tab that holds the bottom in place.

Yesterday I took my Panamera to the smog shop to renew the registration. When I attempted to open the hood, it would not release from the interior cabin. The lever moves and I can feel the cable resistance and if I have someone else do it while I stand at the hood, I can hear movement. However, the first stage does not release. I placed some plastic wedges between the top portion of the bumper and the hood to gently pry it without success. I pushed down in a repeated motion as someone pulled the release lever within the cabin, no luck. I lifted the car and removed the front shroud to see if I can use a long hanger or something, but I cannot seem to find it.

I removed the interior cabin lever and everything seems to be connected. The lever is very stiff and has never been like this before. Any suggestions?

I have researched the other threads and cannot understand how to do it. I cannot find a "grill" to remove. Any help is appreciated.

I’m assuming the grill referenced is the one in the front bumper. I don’t know of a way to get it off without removing the entire front bumper, in which case you won’t need to mess with it anyways as it comes off in one piece with the grill.

Because the cable provides some give you’ll probably want to open that kick panel behind the handle. Hopefully you can see what’s wrong from there...

Would someone please photograph how the lower latch operates? I can gain access to the assembly from beneath the car, but I don't know how to release it. Should a rod be inserted to push a particular area? Should it be pulled? Should I attempt to gain access from the driver's side or passenger's side? Maybe someone can open their hood and have another person pull the release cable from the passenger compartment so I can understand how the mechanism releases so I can replicate it.

Any help is appreciated!

Sorry I didn't think of that sooner!

View from passenger side

View from driver side

It does not look promising there is a way to manually activate it. I felt around underneath. Best bet is to pull the wire inside the release cable somehow...

Could you please pm me with the documentations as well? I have the exact same issue… I was able to open the hood yesterday but today I am unable to open it. I hear the latch click when I have my brother pull the hood release lever, but it doesn’t pop open. So this tells me the cable is still intact. Possibly loose at the ball where it connects with the hood latch.

There are various options but I’m not sure what’s the best option for me. Perhaps it’s following davidln’s process.

i think I’d find the cable intact if I followed your method of removing the hood latch release and that probably wouldn’t help.

i saw another post of going through the wheel well, but again might not be helpful since my cable is still intact.
