DIY: Panamera turbo rear differential fluid change
#32
Hi Everyone - Really appreciate the write-ups and other info. They are very helpful.
QUICK QUESTION: Im planning on doing the following fluid changes shortly on my 2014 Panamera Turbo S:
(a) Final Front Drive fluid
(b) Rear Diff fluid
(c) PDK fluid
....Is there also a transfer case that will need the fluid to be changed? If so, does anyone have the details on:
(a) fluid drain/ capacity for the transfer case
(b) type of fluid
(c) torque specs for fill and drain bolts?
Thanks again for all of your help!

I have a turbo, not turbo S. Have friend who has turbo S. The transmission for turbo/turbo S is same from ZF.
So this means same fluid changes, no separate tc compartment.
You will do front drive (I recommend evacuate fluid from fill hole with a pump as I outlined - saves removing bunch of hardware and you can suck it all out, and know you took it all out by measuring volume taken out)
You will do rear diff (separate drain and fill hole, make sure you open the fill hole first to ensure the bolt is not stuck, etc, so you know you can fill before draining)
I believe I have threads for both DYIs, front final drive, rear diff, that gives you volumes, etc, everything to do the jobs.
The pdk is easy, you decide if you want to replace filter (aka replace whole PDK oil pan as filter is built in...I did not after 60k, only changed fluid, plan on replacing pan before 120k arrives...some tested fluid after 60k and was barely used, thus no filter change at 60k)
I think I have DIY for the change too, with info on how to do the job.

Heat shield bolt part #
Anyone know the part number for the 4 rear diff heat shield bolts.(T30). I was going to perform the rear diff fluid flush but the bolt pattern on the head of the bolts is gone. The t-30 head wont remove it , just spins pretty much in a circle. Going to have to drill them through and remove with extraction tool. I can now suspect why other members heat shield are hack sawed off.
any suggestions on removing heat shield bolts? Any advice is welcomed. Thanks
