Air/Conditioning Stopped Working
Air/Conditioning Stopped Working
So today the feel like temperature in Houston was 107F. I had to wait on someone and waited inside the car while it was on and in park. After 30 minutes, I noticed the AC was not cooling. I also noticed the temperature was rising more than normal. I then drove the car a bit up to 40 mph and the temperature lowered and the ac started working. I then parked the car for a few hours. When I returned a few hours later and the ac was no longer working. The car was not overheating anymore.
Any ideas?

I had that problem, turned out my freon was low. I just got the refill bottle from autozone with the gauge on it. Also if you have a hybrid check your 12 volt battery. My AC would stop working when parked with ac running and it turned out to be my 12volt battery.
Thanks guys. That day almost got a heatstroke on the way home. There was traffic and feel like temp was 107F and who knows what temperature inside. I managed to take to the dealer and have a loaner for now ( a 2020 Panamera). Lets see what they find. I still have extended warranty.
UPDATE: Got a call from the Porsche Dealership and here are the findings (yes, with an s)
1) AC compressor seized up and is dead. Needs new compressor. They "recommended" I change out the condenser and the lines in between claiming metal shavings could have gotten in the system when compressor seized up.
Since the car was already there they made the following observations:
2) Lower control arms are fully worn so they will replace them.
3) Motor mounts are leaking and require changing out.
4) I had a problem with my window switch where the driver window control was broken.
All will be repaired under my extended warranty, and since they put all under same work order, it is only going to cost me a grand total of, wait for it, $100 deductible. All while I am driving a brand new Panamera loaner. Pretty happy with the results. The extended warranty has turned out to be an extremely great purchase.

Update: All issues got resolved. Adviser mentioned that a few Porsche lines have this issue where compressor seizes up but not very common. Lower control arms were changed, motor mounts and window switch. It looks like i will need new brakes soon
<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->Are you serious? Only a hundred dollars for the whole of this repair? Man, your warranty was really worth it, and you must have enjoyed it, I guess. Do you know that replacing the compressor and fixing the a/c only would have cost you around 300 bucks? You were lucky, honestly. In fact, my apartment a/c was broken a few weeks ago, and I called these guys from https://www.airconservicing.org/type-of-aircon-service/ to repair it; they charged me 60 bucks, and you know that repairing a home air conditioner is way cheaper than fixing a car a/c, so that's why I'm saying you really must have enjoyed this warranty.
