971 Transmission Pan reusable?

The transmission pan on all 970s contains an integrated filter. The pan/filter must be changed with any fluid change.
The transmissIon pan on the 971s is separate - #0A7-3-1-165-00 and does not contain a filter. There is a separate "pan-shaped" filter which fits between the pan and transmission bottom - 9A7-317-189-00.
It seems to me that the pan itself should be reusable as it does not contain anything that wears, etc. Comments?
Thanks.

Go to Pelican parts, enter in the appropriate info about your car and then look for a trans fluid change kit. The kit contents will tell you what is needed for your car. If the parts list includes a filter and not a pan, it is a safe bet that you do not need to replace the pan.

Thanks Shrike. I did go to Pelican to see if they had a trans fluid change "kit" for the 971s. At this time, they do not. BUT, they offer the transmission filter, gasket, drain plug and fluids separately. They do not list a replacement transmission pan. The absence could mean that that the transmission pan is reusable.

Both gasket and filter are separate pieces it seems:

I agree as long as the pan has no physical damage reuse it.

Ours is the older 970 so I’m afraid I’m not certain it’s the same, but if it is it is right in between and above the two exhaust pipes. (Get long oven mitts to prevent burns)…

Pdk fluid fill hole is the same as the pdk fluid dran hole.
need some pump to fill at 49C temp tran case, until iverflows, then close. I don't believe odk changed much from 970, so volume will be same, about 9qt.
