I'm using a spray on mine. I'm trying out "HVT Night Shades" using a thin coat, not the full black most people do to their tail lights with this stuff. I'll be taping off everything but the lens, spraying them, then installing them.

Just saw this pic in the classifieds thread and noticed the markers on the rear bumper... I thought the rear housings had different clips from the front? Maybe the owner flipped the fronts upside down and somehow got to fit?

Would be nice to know, I know V Collection listed theirs I think the same, but they did have a drop down box front and rear. So not sure, but if we can find out that would be awesome. I want the Red ones on the DB9 gone badly. I have those current ones on the front, but didnt install them. So TELUM01 might be able to answer this one.

The side markers are different front and rear. Part numbers:
4G43-15A424-AA Side marker, front, federal
4G43-13B454-AA Side marker, rear, federal

Most obvious difference is that the connectors on the front markers are straight, the connectors on the rear markers are sharply angled.

I might be taking my rear bumper off this week, so I should be able to get some comparisons and I'll try to fit the fronts to the rear to see what happens.

Would be really interested to see if the fronts fit in the rear!

Yes, it'll fit, but you have to drill a hole in your bumper for the rear-most stud on the light. Pretty easy mod, really, but not something I'm personally doing because there'd be too many kinds of lenses on the rear of the car... tail lights (red or clear), rear reflectors (red), and the corner lights (black/LED). Just my own opinion, but yes these do fit in the back with minor modification to the bumper. I also turned the lights on and the LED corner light worked just fine.

Wow good to know! I'm having Oracle make me custom led bumper lights from these in front and OEM red in back. They are smoking both black. If it doesn't look quite right, I'll have them use another clear pair for the rear. (I would have gone with the VCollection ones, but those are out of stock until next year.) Thanks!

Are the V collection replacement fixtures LED? It doesn't mention that on their website.. I'm wondering if theirs are just replacement clear lenses with the OEM halogen bulbs..?

They probably use a small company to make them because they are a limited run. They are only required in the USA. Notice the European Aston's don't have them.

Oddly these bumper lights seem to be a unique part to AM. Seems AML contract a small English firm (Perei Lighting) to make them from spec. Kinda odd since the tail lights are made about 20 miles from me by Magna International (Canada).

Hate the amber and the red - totally dates the car since every other light in it is now LED including a set of Ford Transit LED dome markers for the side. Tried tinting these bumper markers as you see in the pics but that makes them look cheaper (as if that was possible).

Anyway - after diligent research I discovered the physical dimensions are not unique and I've sourced a clear replacement light. similar to the ones on eBay - but I didn't like the LED's visible or the black colour so I sought to replace the lights in the housing with a COB LED strip - as you can see from the pics - it's way too bright - they look like DRL's instead of markers. I could mask the yellow COB using a plastic diffuser between the COB and the clear lens but I think I can further improve using switchback LED (see below).

BTW - that line you see to the right in the close-up is my 3M film cutout. My next attempt (build another set) will be to use a switchback COB strip that is White/Amber. This should cut the white intensity by 50% but allow the light to switch to amber and flash as an extension of the turn signal if I tie in the second positive wire with the turn signal LED from the headlight.

Parts are on order to try again so I'll give it a go when they arrive and I get back from SC. If it works ok I might try building a set of clears that illuminate RED at the back using a thinner COB LED in red otherwise it might be mistaken for brake lights. When I finish if they seem acceptable I'll post a DIY to build and sources for the parts.

I have a quick question before I start splicing into the lighting harness at the headlight. - does anyone know if the lighting system in our cars is monitored by a light control unit and does it monitor resistance values? As an example of what I mean , BMW uses PWM signals sent to each usage point on a vehicle lighting system(usually a bulb) it measures the resistance level - if a level comes back outside of expected parameters, it reports an error - usually a cluster indicator that a bulb is gone to alert the driver - if you do mods you need to maintain the same resistance level or adjust the expected results via coding. The latter being unlikely on my AM for a wee while yet anyway.

Edit: Afterthought - I don't think these cars monitor lighting (my 06 anyway) as I just thought when I was swapping out all the incandescent bulbs I would have threw errors and nothing on the cluster indicated a mismatch or failure. This is good.

Prototype #1 - replacement bumper markers.

Looking forward to see your development as I am also interested in replacing mine, thanks

Oracle gutted the black eBay ones I provided and did this:
