You know that they won't fit in the 997.1 bumper, right? Different shape bumper for 997.1 and 997.2. Can't tell from your sig which model you have.

I have a .1 if I had a .2 there would not be a need for this module and yes I am aware that the bumper is different

There is no doubt these look better than Dectane/Depo, but this seems like a hefty expense/PITA.

I couldnt bring myself to do it, as I wanted the original panels and paint on my car.

Suncoast sells the FVD as part of the retrofit with the lights.
I would know - a month ago I purchased a set.

phillips2024 is infamous around these parts
For those that want a simply light swap, I just purchased these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-08-Pors...1YfpWA&vxp=mtr

I've installed them and so far I am very impressed. Quality and fitment is spot on. No cutting/splicing wires or adding resistors. Simply plug and play. Plus comes with a warranty

My car is still in the shop, undergoing a GT2RS OEM conversion - the lights are part of it. So can't answer that one just yet.

It's not cheap... I'll post a full review and costs once it's all done.

I'm also repainting the whole car, from arctic silver to GT Silver which is adding to the cost. Some unforeseen costs too like one-time seals (for removing sunroof and quarter windows) etc. for the paint. All in all parts and service, around ~$45k roughly (Canadian) with a little ingenuity and time to find the right parts at lower than dealer costs.
It's not a 100% conversion either, leaving the sun roof, haven't replaced the seats (for buckets), etc. Havent replaced the hood for carbon fiber either. That will be stage II, once my wallet recoups.

There are members that reshaped the tail light housing shape on the bumper and fitted them easily with minimum cost (lights plus FVD module).

I just did a search and wasn't able to find the thread. It was probably 3 years ago on a green (i think) 997.1. basically he shaved the cutout to match the 997.2 and installed the new lights with the fvd converter. With that said, 997.2 bumpers are pretty cheap now, so that may be an easier route.

I saw a green one on Rennlist too, but that was actually a 996 that the guy was modding to look like a 997. He actually had to fill in gaps from the 996 tail light cutout. I have not been able to find one for a 997.1.

I looked at the 997.2 bumpers and wondered if you only needed the bumper cover and the brackets to make it work. Since I would be repainting to match anyway, I would prefer to go this route. Used they were only around $300. That would let me keep my original intact and stored.

Here is the thread I was talking about. Car is black rather than green. If I where you, I would just by the used bumper.

Or you might inquire with suncoast to get pricing on the kit without the bumper.
