NEW Vantage Unveiled
While I'm glad the new Vantage isn't just a shorter wheel base DB11, I clearly remember visiting an Aston dealer in Michigan 2006 and it was love at first sight.... we'll see if that happens time around when a new Vantage arrives at my local dealer....

Wow, those pictures show so much more than I'd seen previously. That is one hideous car. OMG, so not an Aston. Very glad for my Vantage S.

Wow, look at the size of that panel gap in the back of the front wheel arch. Reminds me of GM quality in the early 80s. Or is that by design?
I suspect this will go similar to how the original Chris Bangle designed BMW 7-series went. The first iteration was pretty horrid, but later generations made that new "design language" actually look nice.

Bare in mind this is a preproduction car, I know the DB11 I saw that was preproduction had a bunch of things that were off a bit as well, so maybe the panel gaps are one of those things?
Viewing event here is in 1 week, I’m planning to ask about the gaps (amongst other things).

These pics are very helpful. Now i have no curiosity to see in person. I may be wrong but pre production publicity cars are generally perfect or at least a little better than production. It is hard to understand why this would be allowed to be seen by the public, unless someone mucked it up raising and closing the hood/bonnet, which is certainly possible. Subtle refinement does not seem to eminate from the interior, perhaps to be racier and more mass appealing. Just seems many design elements not commensurate...a compromise. Not love at first site. Maybe time needed for chemistry to develop. Praying for a quick make over when/if sales do not meet/exceed expectations. I imagine we will hear the real story when/if heads begin to roll.

I was wondering the same thing. It made me go check my Vantage S in the garage to see if I’d imagined my panel gaps being much slimmer, which of course they are.

Well, of course they are huge, since they are hood closure lines, not panel gaps like on the current Vantage. And since the hood closure is on the side rather than on the top surface of the hood, they've got to be extra wide so the surfaces don't strike when the hood is slammed closed. You don't have this problem with the hood on the current Vantage. Honestly, I hate this type of hood closure and the gaps it requires.
