It still amazes me that even though the bovs are at the back of the car, behind the engine, tucked in behind the intercoolers I can still hear them even with the window open and wot pulls. Sounds like someone opening a cold can of fizzy coke each time you get off the throttle after some boost.

Thanks - they are the DO88 Big Pack intercooler and ypipe setup. The intercoolers fit fine with just a little bit of cutting of an inside metal panel. I think I have a pic of it...will post it later. The ypipe is big and it fit but we had to remove the "shocks" for the rear trunk lid because they would press on the ypipe when the lid was closed.

Valves look good there. I'm surprised the lines were so simple. Did the banjo fitting on the coolant port and the adapter for the oil line feed come with the turbos?

I had to google what a banjo fitting was, lol.

This particular kit came with everything except the coolant supply lines. The other lines were stock parts and I believe any adaptors were already included, perhaps Sam can chime in on that one. This is the main difference between alphas and garrets I think - i.e. the alphas are mostly bolt-on with very little modification required. I've seen some kits such as the AMS kit come with a whole set of fabricated lines. When I received my kit I was like "this is what I paid a grand for???" referring to the one pair of coolant supply lines, lol.

I thought the adapters are Protomotive not just the coolant line. Maybe I'm wrong.

What a difference it made following the instructions in the manual about telling the controller what the max wastegate boost psi was. Since then with boost starting around 18psi at 4300 rpm and gently sloping up to 20.5psi at 6krpm I did a 4th gear 75-110mph in 3.5s with a full tank of gas compared to my best of 3.7s with the 68s. There is definitely more room to improve because I don't have any "hump" around 4k, in fact it's the opposite. The 3rd gear log was really smooth starting with 18psi at 4k rpm and smoothly rising to 20psi at 6k rpm. This boost controller adapts! I guess that's it's job lol. But with every run it seems to get closer to target without overshooting. I can now raise the targets a little and I'm sure performance will improve...

Thanks Sam. I don't think I've publicly thanked you for always being available for questions, datalog review and adjustments. I appreciate that you will tell me when you need to find out the answers and you always followup. Good stuff!

Thanks for confirming Sam, that was my understanding too.

So hard to figure out what to do next, it runs pretty damn good now as you know. Only maybe 50-75hp left on table (reliably) without doing rods so... I'll keep watching this thread and a couple other similar cars in the meantime.

E85 all day every day LOL. Only run 93oct right before winter for storage and in spring.

I really like the power growth potential of going wastegates but keeping the long block stock makes the extra costs of going wastegates harder to justify. Sure they are more efficient, less pumping work, etc. but there are a lot more costs to do the switch as you know.
