Driving with Hoosier on to the track?

Thinking about driving my car with hoosier on to the track for my track day next week. There is an embossed on the tire, (Not for street use), but the track is like 19 mins drive from my house.

Any member done this? What are the cons of doing this? Other then the tire sticking all the dirt from the road.

Tks in advance

unless you get stuck in a heavy rain with standing water you will be ok, but bear in mind hoosiers have a thin sdewall & carcass so they are more vulnerable to road debris & punctures than other tires (even other R-compounds).

They have a ceirtain amount of heat cycles in which thier optimal grip is available, driving them on the street will eventually shorten their lifespan considerably as well as their performance on the track.

Noted and Tks for the advice. I am only using them for summer/sunny track days, if rainy I'll be using the MS PS2 instead.

As for heat cycles and wear limit, is there a way to see when they need to be replace? Wear wise? I got a set from my friend, he say he used them several times at the track. Not sure when I should replace them.

Hoosiers usually have about 15-20 HC, or 2-3 track days. Unlike RA-1s,or any other R-Comp, the more Hoosiers wear, the worse they become. So they are actually the best when brand new.

Tks for the helpful info, I guess the Hoosier Koni spec I have will be enough to last couple HPDE track days.

Get yourself a durometer to check the softness of your tire. This will tell you when you should replace them.
