anyone go from tts to 720s?

I wasn't HUGe fan of the 650s Spyder however the 720 coupe seems a pretty large upgrade from the 650 series and more time under mac ;s belt to get bugs worked out if any so daily driver> reliability and real life experiences please reply

On paper and when they're working properly, they are a pretty wicked car. The issues are mostly to do with reliability, especially of the electronic systems. Also, if you curb this car, the chassis will likely be a writeoff, at least with a metal frame you have a chance of repairing the car. But if you have 720S money, you might not care much, as it won't be your only nice car.

Agreed, reliability is sketchy!

Had a 12C, WAS JUNK, the door cracked, when you opened the door it started to come apart where the inside and outside were seemed together, two times it didn't start, at my house, radio was horrible to get to work, their own design. The new ones are WAY BETTER, but I'm not going there again. Flatbedded 6 times in one year, I stuck a fork in it, I was done

The Relationship between a turbo/S to it's owner (or special Porsche models in general, similar thread are in gt3 forum) is like being with the greatest woman for a while, You start looking for "better", not realizing the Best is already yours (and eventually come back). Sit down, relax, wait for the next 992 turbo S if you must "upgrade", but i'll tell you from now, the 991.2 turbo S is starting to be drawn as Porsche's sweet-spot so you might want to wait with that too.

I have a Europipe stage 2 exhaust and Giac stage 2 tune. my car keeps pace with a Performante Spyder from a roll maybe inches up on it so maybe next move are turbos, ic's and a tune for that?

Talk to Brian Pyun, the owner of Above and Beyond Performance in WPB. While primarily a Porsche tuning shop, he has developed a reputation in the 720S world as well, and he will tell you how much better the construction of the TTS is than the Mac. Yes, it's exotic and fast, but it's no Porsche. Aside from the steeper depreciation curve.

As far as more power, a tune is biggest bang for the buck. If you frequent the strip, then meth and IC's are the next step.

If you have the dough get the 720s keep it stock and well warrantied, if you want great bang for your money score a 2012-2014 TTS and send it to AIM in NJ you'll fly! Look at Dave Briggs's 2014 TTS solid in the 8s and world record without any drama true to its license plate of 8SECDD! lastly, it's no 720s money!

Crazy is right!! I didn't think anyone could top Dave to be honest. Time for him to get larger turbos and take the record back!

I’ve just made the move to a 720s from a decade of Porsches starting with a C4S and ending with a 17 TTS and several CTT and Panameras in between.

To keep it simple, I just got bored of the Porsches. Every MY I upgraded to didn’t feel much different and the last TTS i purchased was $200k+ and really didn’t give me the thrills/looks/performance I felt I should have received for that price range. Starting to look at the 488s and figured it was time to upgrade to the exotic market but just couldn’t find the perfect 488. Ended up finding the perfect 720s for me and no regrets.

I will definitely get another Porsche in the future but just had to get the exotic bug out of my system. Let me know if you have any other questions but if you have the means to make the change do it and go back if you want to.
