No issues with the factory platinum wheels. Easy to clean and very hard wearing and hence far more resilient to scratches and chips. Much better than I had imagined they would be.

This parking job was at a car show in Vancouver and the organizer's asked me to put the car this way. Would never do it in a public parking situation.

Has anyone done a Matt or satin finish on wheels or entire car?

Curious about amount of work on entire car...
If you are looking for ease of care / maintenance, a matte finish on the car's body is NOT what you want to do.

While you may not have to worry about swirls, it brings along a bunch of other problems. Anything that gets on the paint like bird deposits or sap needs to be removed immediately before it has time to etch into the paint. On a normal finish if something etches in you can polish it out and be back to a shiny finish. On a matte paint you can't polish.

I believe that BMW made / makes customers sign a paint care waiver before they took delivery of cars with their "frozen" matte paints.

I haven't heard a sport exhaust on the 350hp Carrera, but you say it's worth it hu'... Curious if you have heard it on the S as well and have any comparisons to share?

In April 2012 I rented a base 991 Cab with Sport exhaust then in September a 991S Coupe with PSE and now have a 991S X51 Cab with PSE. All pretty much sound the same.

Question Black interior...?

My wife and I are both curious if the seats really get too hot in the sun. I know BMW seats are treated with something that makes them un-hot to the touch in the sun similar to the new MasterCraft boats.

Of course the lighter the better but curious as to your experiences with black?

Pdcc & ptv

Haven't heard anyone discuss PDCC and PTV - I love these options, especially PDCC which you can really feel, wouldn't buy a cat without them after having them.

Also no comments on the ceramic brakes - my 991 doesn't have them which I regret, had them on a 2010 GT3 and really loved them. A bit expensive however, you really have to want them to order them.

I fell in love with PDCC also and added it to my configuration. In fact, like many folks, I experienced budget creep as I added many "necessities". I expect it will all be worth it when my car arrives.

Question Wheres Psycho Sid lately...?

Brad B--> Did you get your car yet? and how's that PDCC going? Did you get the S and if you did hows PTV? Can you notice it? Lastly is there a button to turn off PDCC? I know it replaces a button on the console, but not sure which one.

Sadly, my car is still a few weeks out. So no driving report yet!

No way to turn PDCC off, not sure why you would anyway. Not active when you are traveling in a straight line so it really doesn't effect ride quality.
