New 991S Build
New 991S Build
Well my early Feb 991S coupe build moved up a few weeks to Jan 23rd (woohoo!) and is about to lock. After spending a few months going back and forth on options I am happy with my current build. I am unlikely to make any further changes, but figured I'd share the build with you guys anyway.
I tried to stick to only options that I really wanted and would enjoy on a daily basis and skip things that know I will be perfectly happy without. This will be a 3rd car in the family and I will use it to commute (~10 miles fwy or ~20 miles canyon if i take the long way) as well as weekend fun with occasional autox/track days. I stuck with mostly sport options, but skipped PDK (not ready to give up MT yet) and PDCC (didn't like the feel, potential for additional under-steer or added complexity). Exterior color was hard to pick, but ultimately I like GT silver the best, so stuck with that and platinum wheels. Really wasn't interested in extra leather (especially on black), so skipped all that. Bose didn't sound very good (and didn't want the cd changer/xm) so just stuck with the stock stereo and will upgrade it if I end up wanting an improvement. A few minor cosmetic items sneaked in recently as well.

911 Carrera S

wow! nice build. like that you knew what you really wanted/needed and didn't get hung up on options that didnt suit you. i'm with you on the 7mt, just so hard to not get the manual in a porsche...pdk is faster and better, but i couldnt live with myself without a stick.
we're both in the waiting game (my order went in this week too), and i dont have a delivery date yet. you?

Being a manual, I wouldn't opt for the MF Steering wheel (too much black in my humble opinion.)
Sports wheel comes with a stalk that does everything except the volume control, and breaks the monotony of the cabin.
Other than that your build covers all the essentials.
Picture below shows the MF and SD wheels (albeit with PDK paddles) but you get the general idea.

My build locked today and the production date got moved up again from Jan 23rd to the 18th! Dealer says it will likely arrive by the end of Feb.
Although it seems I am in the minority on here, I prefer the black MF wheel over the SD wheel. I like it all black, plus prefer the buttons on the wheel vs the stalk.
