Leather Repair -- Recs Please!

Guys, My parking garage guys have now put their third deep scratch on the driver seat (pic attached). From now on I'm going to put a pillowcase over the seat, as ridiculous as that is, before I pull into the garage.

But I also need to repair the current damage. The scratches are not super deep, but definitely have some texture to them. Has anyone used Leatherique or can recommend another product? Is the Leatherique color "black" or "Euro black"?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Why don't you have Porsche repair it and send the garage the bill? What they did is BS and they should pay to have it repaired.

I'm going to try on Monday but I think the most likely outcome is 1. They flat out refuse (the attendant refused to even give me a damage claim form and told me to my face that interior damage doesn't count ) or 2. They pay for it then kick me out of the garage. I know that sounds pathetic but the reality in my neighborhood is that it's a "seller"s market and I have a pretty good deal on a space close to my apartment.

B/w the leather piece and labor, dealer would probably charge $700-1000 to fix it. I'm thinking a detailing shop may charge around $100 and make it look 90% good, or something like Leatherique for $50 might also be a 90% fix, which is fine by me. I've learned not to sweat the small stuff too much with these cars. When I traded in my 997 the dealer gave me a quote sight unseen (bad idea for them -- I had toasted the rotors, traded in with Pagid, no brake sensors, small leak in gearbox etc) so I realized all the scratches, scuffs etc. were mostly just a waste of my mental energy.

Having said that, I would like to fix these scratches because they are visible every time I step into the car and because once they are fixed I know I can prevent them again with the pillowcase method. Oh the crap we put up with to live in the Big Apple!

thanks! i just tried the shoe polish and it works very well for the color. there is still some texture to the scratch but i think some very fine sandpaper and a gentle hand (prior to the shoe polish) will produce a very acceptable result.

Check with your dealer. They may use or know of a leather repair place. I had that same type if scratch on my old 997. Dealer had the repair person come and fix it. It looked almost perfect afterward. It cost less than 100 to fix.

Sorry to hear...take it Matt at Detailing Dynamics. You'll be in very good hands.

glad the shoe polish worked. yes, extra fine sand paper is how pros fix it.

you can push the seat back when valet takes the car. that's one way to minimize risk
