Worlds Best Brakes?

So I was watching this vid:

It's a nice comparison between the new R8 and 2013 991, then they started talking about the brakes. The 991 managed to stop in 93 feet from 60mph.

So I started to do some research... these are some of the numbers I was able to find.

McLaren MP4-12C 106 ft
2014 Audi R8 V8 Spyder 101 ft
2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG 102 ft
2012 Aston Martin DBS Carbon Volante 101 ft
2011 Ferrari 458 Italia 99 ft
2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S (997) 101 ft
2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 100 ft
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport 103 ft
Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV 98 ft
2013 Porsche Boxster S 102 ft
Ariel Atom 122 ft
2013 Nissan GT-R 105 ft
2013 Porsche 911 Carrerra S Cabriolet 93 ft

I might have missed a few other supercars, but I think the list is pretty comprehensive, and a lot of these guys were running massive carbon brakes...

So my question is, do we really have the best brakes of any road car?

Would you please give the guy a brake!

On the original subject, Randy Pobst says Porsche has the only cars you can take pure stock on a track and not destroy the brakes. In the best driver's car competition, car after car was chided for brakes that were gone in one lap at Laguna Seca.

Braking distance is more a function of tires more than anything else (all brakes on road cars are strong enough to lock up the wheels).

All tires being equal, the 911 has an advantage being so rear heavy.

and road surface.
Labeling these as the "best" based on stopping distance alone is incomplete. Resistance to fade and feel are important metrics for sure.

The only true comparison with all those super cars would be testing done on the same surface at the same time and under the same conditions. However, the mere fact that the comparison with the R8 was done at the same time and under the same conditions speaks volumes about Porsche's brakes.

Here's a list of cars in 2011 that could brake from 60 MPH in under 100 feet, the shortest of which was 93 feet. Very impressive that the 991 in stock form can do that!

Finally im not the only guy to jump and in say 1 time stopping distances are not related to brakes.

The biggest benefit from ccb's is acceleration and handling dynamics of the car.

the factors for stopping distance which makes a comparison completely useless is as the statistic is only able to be measured in a lab and becomes variable on the track.

-weight
-weight bias
-weight transfer
-camber angle & alignment
-front compression damp settings
-tires
-downforce
