Dealer acts like it is no big deal. Apparently 379 cars are suspected of having an issue with wiring in the passenger Sport seat. If you have a car nearing delivery, this may or may not affect you.

My car should have arrived by now. My new c4s is suspected to be released from Houston between the 14th and 20th.

I can go check up on it for you. Even drive it up. No charge, my man.

Joe

When was the production date of your build? I'm expecting delivery soon as well. Do you know if the dealer is repairing the issue prior to delivery or will a recall bulletin be issued? Is this issue only for cars shipped to the United States.

Thanks

Ray78,
I don't have much information. My understanding is that these cars are being fixed before delivery. I have no idea where the 379 cars were heading. My guess is that it could be a grouping of 379 cars that featured sports seats. My vehicle was supposedly finished on 9-6-13. It arrived at the port on 10-4-13. Original estimated delivery was 11-1-13. Dealer had let me know about 9-25-13 that they thought they would have it in the early part of October.

Joe,

Thanks for the response. Looks like we may be in the same situation. My car exited production September 13 and arrived at the Port of Halifax September 24. My original estimated delivery was November 1, 2013 as well. I'm waiting for the car to arrive via rail to the West Coast any day and haven't heard anything from my dealer about the sports seat issue. What sport seats did you purchase. I ordered the Premium Package Plus in conjunction w/Power Sport Seats. Did the dealer let you know about the 379 cars affected? With 379 cars potentially affected, there'll probably be a service bulletin issued. Hopefully, it's not a major issue and is a quick fix.

Aha. Mine arrived Houston 10/1 and the dealer has had no clue why it was not released. This makes sense and I will pass it along. Mine has the 18-way adaptive sport seats.

Thanks for posting.

jnscolo,
My information is from my dealer. Very happy to share it. I assumed that others might be going through this as well. If you hear anything from your dealer regarding this, please update us.

To date I've only gotten a semi-cryptic email stating: "We just heard about the recall.... This explains why the car was not moving at the port." I've been travelling, but called my sales guy late today asking for a more complete report. Nothing yet, but he will be hearing from me every 10 minutes starting at 9am Monday until I have a better answer.

Jnscola,
I missed your question about the seats I ordered. Mine are 18 way sports seats. I haven't heard anything new yet. The wait is killing me.

Richard,
I suspect that you are OK. I would keep it in mind though, in case you have an issue with your passenger seat at some future time.
