As stated, "Aftermarket Exhaust" I had my dealer install the AWE system, but wanted the option to keep in quiet in the neighborhood.

I have a 2013 CS4 that had a standard exhaust. After using the part by part approach reusing my tailpipe tips ect. I have noticed the following -when engaging sport mode the PSE button automatically lights up. So I wonder if the valves would open without the PSE switch installed if one engages sport mode? My guess is no or it would have been covered here already.

Yes, it should come on automatically.

When I got my X51 installed it came with PSE. Since I didn't have it before, I had no PSE button. The installation didn't come with the button either.

In normal mode the car is 'quiet'. If I hit the sport or sport plus, you automatically hear the volume change.

To be clear when you are at idle(below 3500 rpms) and hit the sport button you can hear the exhaust emit a deeper tone? In my mind that makes the panel switch unnecessary. I was surprised to heard this because the side mufflers are not usually bypassed automatically until 3500 rpms.

You are correct. In standard Jose without PSE activated the car will sound like 'wawawawa'. When you activate PSE it changes to a 'woowoowoo'. It's not a huge change but it does get louder.
I agree that the button is rather unnecessary. It really only works when in regular mode.

Before I installed PSE the side mufflers were not bypassed automatically until 3500 rpms were reached. With the standard exhaust sport mode had no effect on the exhaust except it raised the idle rpms about 100 clicks. 2013 C4S

I am starting this process with my dealer to see what I come up with.

I sent the parts list OP provided and will report back what they come back with. First pass, the quoted the PSE kit...

Hopefully I can get this done near the price OP paid!

already catching some resistance due to the lack of replacement side mufflers. i realize that the parts list doesnt replace the sides and that OP has a working exhaust system, but are the side mufflers on an S the same as those in the PSE kit?

The existing side mufflers on an S/4S are the same part number as those that come with the PSE kit. I would recommend having your dealer call Porsche of Rockville if they have any concerns. Earl was the mechanic that installed mine --- he did an awesome job and was very knowledgable.

My SA is reporting that both the S and 4S use the same side mufflers and they are 991 111 321 01 for left & 991 111 322 01 for right. He says that the Sport kit shows 991 111 325 01 for left & 991 111 326 01 for the right.

For all intents and purposes it is the same muffler. I didn't swap mine and neither have numerous other people on this forum. I would suggest having your SA call either Gina (SA) at Sonnen (she is the one that originally confirmed this for me) or Earl (Tech) at Porsche of Rockville. If you would like, PM me your email address and I can forward you the emails that Gina sent me regarding this topic.

By the way, the dealer had originally told me they would need the car for two days in case they ran into issues with programming. I got lucky that the car (even though did experience ecu programming delays) was ready for me one minute prior to closing.

Also, they had a promotion that reduced the labor slightly. I was originally quoted $975 for the install. In case someone decides to contact the dealer about the PSE install, I'd like you to have complete information.

Good luck guys.

PSE is amazing.
