991 PSE Install - Definitive list of Parts and Prices
#76
Thanks for the list, I recently picked up a 15 Cab S and the only thing missing was PSE. I had PSE on my '12 991 S so i knew that i needed it. Anyway the only change from the list was to switch out the center console from what you had to the one specific for the convertible - 991-613-967-07-DML.
Dealer is charging me $840 for install and programming but I have 10% service coupon so all in all not too bad.

What are you saying to the dealers

just a quick update after less than a week with the setup.
PSE switch is amazing. With the system on normal, the exhaust is quieter than the stock c2s exhaust. With the PSE activated, the tone deepens and it growls at low rpms. Above, 5k RPMs, I swear it sounds better than a Ferrari.
I don't know how I went 3 years without it. I'm definitely keeping this car forever now (okay, maybe another year hehe)
I think any valved x pipe should sound familiar to the fabspeed I have. I wasn't too picky on the xpipe based on the sound clips I heard. The car also breathes much much better (obviously) where the it revs quicker.
Thank you OP for the post. PSE with an Xpipe is an absolute must

I want to hear the sound of the exhause and the look of the finished job. I work in Fort Lee NJ and went to Town Porsche one time for a service.
I have a 991.1 Carrera and upgraded retrofit Center Dash Clock, Center console with the full buttons but had no idea where to start to get the PSE added.
I would like to know what parts are the necessary and the best...
Can we talk somehow??

Any success on reasonable PSE install in the bay area
Appreciate this detailed and thorough thread. Looks like it should be $1200 of parts and 4.5 hours of labor to make this happen on my 4S. Has anyone had any luck getting a good install quote in the CA Bay Area? Getting quotes $4k+ just like some of the folks above

So, I just had the PSE installed this week at Porsche of Rockville and wanted to let everyone know the parts and prices I paid in case someone is thinking of doing the same. I know there have been threads on this, but in my research, I've never found a definitive reverse image search email checker port checker list of parts and prices -- located in a single thread -- required to add PSE to a S/4S.
The total cost (labor and parts) to do this was $2114. When you build your 991, Porsche charges $2950. So, those interested in saving $800, add this option afterwards.
Attached is a breakdown of the minimum parts needed to do the install.
Also, thank you to those that helped me identify these parts. I "stole" info from a lot of other threads to figure out the minimum that I needed to do this.
