Question Porsche leather.....can this be fixed?

Came from placing a piece of luggage (mind you very carefully) on the rear seats, it was too big for the boot

I cant stand looking at them because my eyes are always hitting the same spots...every time I get into the car

Is this fixable?

1. Fixing it would make it worse.
2. If it's a panel I am sure someone could replace the panel but it wouldn't be like stock again.
3. Change the entire back seat.
4. Live with it. It's not a big deal and after a few weeks I am sure your mind will be occupied with more first world problems.

Hint: Pick #4 and save yourself the headaches.

On the seats

I can pick #4 but I don't want it to get progressively worse

I am willing to state that it could be fixed IMO. Upon close inspection you would see it, but it would certainly be much better than your picture illustrates.

Call your dealer as I would suspect that they have someone who already does this sort of repair regularly for them.

Keep us posted if you get a fix. I have an almost identical spot that was there when I bought my car.

They sub contract that stuff out. Will get some leather repair guy to do it. Same thing they do with rim repair, Paint protection film, etc..

Hopefully they have a good guy they use. I know those spots can be repaired to look a lot better.

I've had my hands full to look into my mark. On the to do list!

I'm in the leather upholstery business - absolutely that can be repaired, that's VERY minor and the leather in a Porsche is easy to fix. Don't go to the car dealer, contact a leather restoration service in your area, many are mobile and can fix it at your office in an hour or so.

Dr. to the rescue!

Are you familiar how they do repairs by any chance?

Sure, the leather in a 991 is a finished leather (Painted) so the repairs are easy. Pure Anilines are MUCH more difficult. With a finished or corrected leather, they can apply a specialized putty material to the damaged area, use a small heat device to replicate the grain pattern, then paint it and seal it. I do it all the time in my store - those little marks are nothing, you should see some of the big leather repairs such as razor cuts that are a foot long, etc.

If you call a mobile tech and skip the dealer, around $ 150.

Dr.,

What do you recommend for leather care in the 991? For cleaning and maintaining it? Not looking to make it look different, just to maintain the same finish and protection. Some products give it that greasy look which I don't want. I prefer the matte look. I like the less is more approach.

I'm sure there's some sort of coating on there anyway? It's not like it's some sort of fine Italian leather furniture that needs conditioning I assume.

Thanks
