Lap Times Thread

No video, own cameras are prohibited on TF days and I don't want to be ripped off by track's rental cameras. DL-1 data is available.
But as I'm going back there next weekend I hope to be able to post a sub 8:30 time with data...

I recently ran a 1:19.071" at Willow Springs (the big track) in my Radical SR8LM. This was in a POC race (not in quali trim). Here's the video and also a time print from MyLaps time record.

Huh, no kidding. I've never done a TT event. There is a NASA TT event at HPR in July. Looks like fun. I wouldn't mind doing it. I looked at the website but it's a bit confusing as what needs to be done license wise, class to enter, etc. Figuring out the classes looks like a nightmare. I have no idea where I would fall into. My car is probably 550-600 crank hp (about 500 whp), RWD, LSD, with stock interior except a Tequipment roll bar GT3 seats and harnesses. Car weights in at 3430 lbs with 3/4 fuel and driver. Tire are Kumho V710 (DOT street legal R compound). The car is fully street legal. What class would that fall into?
Btw, My run was on Kumho V710 as opposed to the NT01s (both DOT Rs) as it shows in the updated time list at the beginning of the thread.

For the most part it's power to weight (weight with driver/whp). You easily fit into TT1 where the minimum is 5.5:1 lbs per hp. AWD Is a .4 penalty but you get some back for being so heavy. Not sure the amount off the top of my head but would probably end up at 5.7:1 or so which you easily fit into. It takes a lot to make a TT illegal for TT1. My car still has plenty of room on DOT tires and I'm completely gutted with 514 whp.
After that all you need to do is contact the time trial director, give them your experience and probably do a check ride. Join As a nasa member and buy a TT license (cheap). It's a lot of fun.
Record is a 1:55.3 i think by a Viper ACR.

Funny thing is, my buddy who set up my whole car up for me wouldn't just beat the TT record, he'd shatter it. He turned a 1:53.4 out there the same day in his '07 997GT3. His car is basically a stock GT3 lightly gutted down to 3000lbs and running a 100 octane flash on open pipes and on Pirelli slicks. Granted, he is a retired PRO driver with years of experience racing these cars but any way you slice it, that's friggin fast especially considering I have over 100 whp on him. He's the fastest driver I've ever had a chance to ride with and absolutely makes your eyeballs water. I'm lucky to have him as my mentor though.. Here a lap where I ran a 1:55.20 and I'm pedaling my **** off just trying to hang with him. You gotta love the power on oversteer coming out of turn 2. I'm gonna try to do the NASA TT in July. Thanks again for the info..
