Some good advice: get rid of the Upsolute flash,I had it on my car and my exhaust valve melted, damaged my cilinder and piston, bent a rod, damaged my oilpump, costed me 13000 euro to repair, contacted Upsolute but they refused to answer so I sended the Upsolute flash to some other programmers to investigate
and they told me they had never seen such a crappy file and all the knock parameters were raised so high the Computer couldn't detect knock anymore.

Richard, I had the upsolute tune, and thought it was just fine, until I switched to another tune and found out just how bad the upsolute really is... You are giving up a TON of throttle response, you just don't know it.

I appreciate reading thru this thread and finding useful info from all the vendors on intercooler options... Quite honestly, this is one area I think that is very overlooked and underrated in the 996TT community. I currently have X50s and will be upgrading to something larger when I'm over my "tranny rebuild" hump!

thks Mike what would you recommend ? , back in 2003 Upsolute soldered a different higher capacity chip in my Ecu but I still have the original chip.

Richard, I'm very happy with my UMW, but there are other options as well, so search around and find what's right for you. I personally think UMW is the "POOP", but that's just me!

There is a reason Upsolute is ONLY $699... It isn't a "good" reason, either.

I'll add my warning about upsolute too. When I bought my car it had their flash. It was terrible, all sorts of problems. When I upgraded my car I discovered they had locked my ECU....punk a@z bastidges. I had to ship my ECU to Todd K so he could work his magic on it. IMO I would drop that flash like a hot potato.

Ok I finally had the AWE's Intercoolers and Associated Hoses fitted today, noteable that suddenly my car doesn't pull any more than 1.0 Bar vs 1.3 previously but doesn't feel any slower, is this just the MAF reading differently or am I just now ready for Kevin's Hybrids and ECU program ??

Before you go any further, check for boost leaks. If you are seeing less boost then before, that's an issue.

As a side note, none of our intercoolers leave here with leaks. We have a dunk tank where each cooler is pressurized and submerged. If there is even the smallest trace of a leak, it's fixed. If the leak is unable to be repaired, the end tanks are cut off, and the cooler is tossed in the garbage.

Hope this helps!

get him to check the hoses going to and from the ICs.... have him pull on them and inspect if the tabs are in place....
I bet thats what it is....
the best way is to do a pressure test from the turbos...
