a timely and valuable thread resurrection. been thinkin to do this now for too long. try to tackle it this weekend but i dont have the rss stop part though. either way, a no clutch start for the twisting of 2 wires is perfect. one guy says cruise ctrl still works but i never use that sh*t anyway...

can anyone reading that has the actually has rss stop piece installed add to how engagement is altered? it's just a bit shorter travel of the lever or am i missing something. the earlier the better.

Id imagine it allows you to slam the clutch down quicker still providing the proper engagement. So if the clutch engages at 1/2 pedal no need to mash it to the floor for engagement.. makes you look and feel like a real racer, quicker shifts, faster times (hopefully). Couple this with a ssk and shifting would be awesome.

Your synchros are the limitation on how fast you can shift. There is a reason the Cup shifter is not a SSK per se...

The way I understand it, more than anything, it "moves" the floor up.

That way you can push the pedal down all the way and not have to muscle memory at what point the clutch engages.

Warning Before Purchase of Clutch Stop

So I ordered a Clutch Stop from Stable Energies in order to help with what I consider a high engaging clutch on my 996 turbo. It is a nice product, but unfortunately my clutch did not engage high enough. Even at the lowest adjustment the pedal would not go low enough to put into gear. I thought that it was worth a try, no big deal, I'll just return it and move on. Well when I called to return I was told that if the part has any wear on it it would not be refunded. Now remember I never even drove the car, I consider this part to look brand new and explained it this way. I was told that they would inspect the part and decide if it can be refunded, this is after I pay to ship the part back. The mood of the conversation left me a little uneasy. I'm concern that no matter what condition this part is I'm not going to get refunded. At that point I'm out $100+ dollars and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Who knows they'll probably sell the part for new anyway. I know I wouldn't be able to tell if this thing was ever installed. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, maybe I'll sell it on ebay and cut my loss. Before ordering make sure you are willing to take the loss if you are not satisfied.

Hey dude I have the same problem. Tell them to send it back to you and remove the adjustable screw completely. You will love how the clutch engage in the same point every time. Hope that help.

Did the same here. Had to remove the adjustable screw to allow the clutch pedal more travel. Also make sure you install it as close to the foot pad as possible to gain more travel.
As last resort you can machine off some of the block if you have to.
