My new seat finally arrived...

Gonna have to fab the front mount for the sparco rail, but the new full containment seat arrived. Very impressed with how rigid it is in comparison to the FOUR Kirley race seats I have in the shop right now.

Total cost for the seat the seat covering (custom colors were available), and shipping was $690. I have about $240 in a sparco slider and 911 Turbo frame that a vendor sold me.

This seat is designed to work with my HANs device, which is also set at 20 degrees.

Also got John's new Xellerator exhaust in... Still now car, but hey I'll have a list of things "to do" when it does come back!

Mike, I think you will be happy with it...I had a Kirkey in my cobra and got rid of it for an Ultra Shield...worked out much better...they are very light and surprisingly strong...

Weight?

This going in the Turbo of the other car?

Do you have to drill your own side mount holes? Don't see any

The seat weighs about ten pounds without sliders or base. It's going to be bottom mounted to the sliders I have, but you can side mount it. I had zero issues drilling the holes for my Kirkey that's in the Datsun.

This is going in the Turbo. I'll probably put one of my Kirky Intermediate seats in the passenger side for student ride-alongs.

The new Kirkey modular build seats are nice, and I was considering one of those, but for the money, this seat was perfect for me, and it fits me like a glove!

10lbs!!!!!!

I'm in, where do I get one? I'll likely paint it though, bare metal drives me nuts for some reason.

What's your waist size? Shoulders? You think you'll still nee a brace like the kirkey ones?

Can you weigh that exact seat and give me an exact weight if you don't mind? Is that the lighweight one or the regular road race one?

Dez, here's the link to the exact seat:

http://www.ultrashieldrace.com/prod.php?id=107

I'm leaving it on sliders, and don't expect to use a back brace with this seat. It's stiff...

I ordered the 15/16 seat which is a size 15 to 16 inch at the hips and if fits me PERFECT. No slop for sliding around at the hips and very little extra room at the shoulders. I'm about a 36-38 inch waste and 46 inch chest size.

I just weighed it on a cheap bathroom scale and got 14#.

I bought the VS Halo because I'd seen these seats when i was up at Watkins Glen a few months back. I was amazed at how light the standard unit was and how rigid they are. The Lightweight units are probably a 1/4 lighter, but since I'm no lightweight myself, I didn't bother.

Thanks Mike, I will likely opt for the lightweight one since I don't want to lose any weight.
