Haven't seen a tip/turb/cab. How desirabe? I'd want to switch to a faster ride in a few months after I get my kicks. Ideas on price? He said he'd be happy with 'high 40s.'
Any major known issues on this beast?

Personally, it is not a very desirable car because it is probably the slowest 996 Turbo variant. With cab you have added weight and loss of structural rigidity compared to the coupe and then the tiptronic transmission, which is couple of ticks slower than a 6 speed manual. If you don't have to have a cab + tip car, for high $40s- low $50s, there are a couple of nicely modified examples for sale in the For Sale section of this board that I would take over the car in question.
If you are set on this particular car, high $40s wouldn't be a bad price, and you probably wouldn't have too hard of a time selling it if you do it before the summer is over.

Nothing wrong with a cab, don't have tip though. Had 2 coupe tt's, bought the cab when we moved near the shore. Now my wife actually will ride with me. Also about being slow, nothing a few mods won't fix. If it suits you go for it.
Great color combo IMveryHO and I think more desirable come resell timedown. Many people that deal with a lot of traffic prefer the tip (I do not). The seller says 440HP. Does that mean its an X50 or did someone add a few mods or is he just misinformed. Stock is either 415 or 445 (X50). You could have him give you the option codes listed under the hood.
As far as the car being slow. The car is near the top of the automotive foodchain in any configuration and is plenty fast for 99% of the driving most people do and can pretty easily be bumped another 80-90HP is so desired. Depends on what you want. I can go plenty fast around the track but do not care if I'm the fastest out there or not. Most racing situations are more a function of driver skill than HP. A very skilled driver can humble you very quickly no matter what you are driving.
If you could get the car in the mid to upper 40's I think you'd be doing OK.

If you will mod your car heavily and compete with the BIG boys, don't get a Tip+Cab. The Tip can handle up to around 700 crank hp. If your area has relatively good weather out of a year, a cab is the way to go for me. I drive with my top down anywhere between 45-100 degree, as long as it is not raining.

Something worth mentioning (I think),he mention replacing the tires and brakes only once in four years. Of course if it's true, that means a lot to me. The car was not driven very hard! And finally, if you fall in love with it, who can change that
i have a tip,cab and probably making more power than most,, obviously it cost lots of money but not only does it look good with the top down, but in stop and go traffic its easier too. Mine is just a sunday driver though...

Given the stop and go traffic in DC... I NEED the tip. I wasn't looking for the cab but I guess there's worse things one would have to settle for.
I checked it out today. A bunch of cosmetic issues especially on the bumper. Lots of dings...but nothing a good repainting won't handle. I noticed something that looks like water spots on the wing. They didn't buff out...anyone seen that?
The carfax looks good. I'm going to ask him to take it to Porsche to get a clean bill of health...especially since he's had it serviced at an independent shop. The only major repair he mentioned is a hose that he needed to get replaced.
Any other pre-sale ideas considering this particular model?

I love my 996TT Cab Tip. To each his own. I use mine as a daily driver and you cannot beat putting the top down. I think people forget that any 996TT will probably be faster than almost any car you will see out there. So why not put the top down and look good
