did the part numbers change? I think they added a 1 to the end instead of the 0....

so who makes these IC's for porsche? if they are so efficient at oem thickness, be nice to have a set of these in 4.5 or so with aluminum custom end tanks. I'm planning on some custom 4.5 Bell IC's but if can get these gt2rs in a 4.5 would certainly try it out.

You can weld on aluminum end tanks on if you wanted to do so. Thicker core does not mean it will be more efficient.

yeh thats what I'm planning to do with end tanks, in fact i just bought the prefabbed 4.5 end tanks that were for sale. yeh i got ya on the efficiency but it should flow more air and it sounds like its a better core efficiency wise than what bell is putting out. i been going back and forth on 18G VS 20G and if i do the 20G I'm gonna need better IC's than the GT2RS.

If you get 20G you are also going to need a built tranny

Yeh I'd need it even with 18g cuz I would push them all the way, and I really want a consistent 10sec quarter mile on pump gas

exactly, these cores have already produced lower IATs than Bell 3.5" and 4.5" cores at the 800hp level -and corresponding 100-300km/hr times dropped by several seconds. If flow was overly restricted, IATs would start becoming an issue/times would slow and its not happening. Secan and HS Marston also run 3.5" cores for a reason. To put it bluntly, thicker is not the way to go for cooling on long endurance runs. For $900 its a no brainer IMO, if you're unhappy you can 90% of your money back in the FS section.

I would like to add that most, not all of the 4.5" bell intercoolers i've seen/researched never had proper/sealed ducting to them. Being thicker cores, they need it more than the others.

Either way, these 997.2 intercoolers are the best bank for your buck for an almost drop in replacement for the average owner.

So back to my original question. Who makes these for Porsche?

I have some on the way, think I will be the first to go ahead and dyno before and after unless I missed where someone else already did it. A little concerned with the install as I have never messed around with that area, but I've done a RWD conversion myself, DV install, made a custom splitter and took apart the inside of the car before. Hope I don't mess it up!! Otherwise, I'll be paying my mechanic to do it.

About how many hours to get the intercoolers in once you have everything apart already (so just the mod part)?

probably 3-4hrs taking your time and cleaning everything as you go
