Hello Ali,

Do you have any logs from the car?

What is your exhaust temperature on the same run?

Regards,
Emre

Also, which Durametric version do you have?

If you have ver. 6.x , it doesn't show the real EGT's.

It only shows the modeled EGT.

so you will need another logger software

I had to put the spacer because the bracket wouldn't go any further up. Pushing it hard causes pressure on the end tank on the opposite side against a curved bit of body metal and will result in damaging the end tank!

I just ordered the 997.2 ICs for my 996TT and am planning on using the SS, nylon covered cable ties mentioned above (product 69855K74 in the link). Anyone have success using these (or similar) instead of nylon ties? I live in Chicago and have experienced first hand how brittle zip ties can get in sub-zero temps...

The best way to do this is to take the original metal clamps that secured the 996tt OEM intercoolers and cut them in the middle into two equal halves. Then you need to measure exactly how much longer they need to be to clip on to the ducting with the thicker IC, and either rivet or weld a piece of thin steel strap (cut to the same width as the original clamp) to the center of the two halves of the original clamps. You will then be able to have the piece of mind that the ducting is held on securely with OE clamps instead of plastic tie wraps or metal wraps that could possibly damage the IC by cutting into it.

When I installed mine I was able to bend (straighten and rebend) the original clips to make them work.

Great to know. I will try this, if I can't get it to work, I'll do spring steel + rivets. Thanks for the input!

I think I am going to do the 997.2 upgrade as well to my 996 GT2. I recently damaged one of my intercoolers in a little "guard rail incident" anyway, so why not replace with a set of superior components.

This thread sets the standard for evaluating a mod IMHO. Thanks a ton for sharing this valuable information!
