you have a major leak....
Im guessing the black plastic hard line connected to the tubing b4 turbo on drivers side... disconnect it and see if its leaking air... if yes its a check valve up on top....

Ok, will do. I tested through the Intake and found my Y-hose was leaking around the DV's so I have everything apart and have ordered a new hose. Once I get it buttoned up I will follow your instruction.

So air should not be flowing down that hard line if I'm pressurizing from the compressor side of the turbos?

Mark, if it is a check valve are can you tell me on this diagram which one it would be?

Do you have a suggestion on where to buy these small parts if I need to replace them?

No, TB and Plenum are stock. I called AutoAtlanta and they were able to add it to my order. So fare replacing y-hose and that check valve and rebuilding the seals on my DV's. Hopefully that will solve my problems.

While you are in there I would also change the TB gasket. Another common place for a leak.

Just started doing this today and didn't get very far

It won't hold air at all. As I believe with a previous poster air is leaking freely from the hose circled in Markski's pic. It also smells of fuel.

There's a black plastic line on the drivers side intake right before the turbo. Disconnect it and do a pressure Test and if that hose is blowing air it's the check valve up on top in back of motor as usual. But this does not mean that the only leak. Good luck

Oh that's all it is. Thanks Markski. Does anybody know how one gets to that little bugger?

Can anyone recommend a shop in or around NC that could perform a boost leak test?

I guess I'll just start taking things out until I can reach it. I've had my hands all over this motor but not back there on top yet.

Anyone use this pressure tester and know if it will work on K24 turbos? It seems pretty slick with the pressure gauge built in.

Hey guys,
Did my semi-annual boost leak check and found a few things...one torn o-ring on the intercooler inlet (fixed), and now one unknown. I could hear air escaping through the airbox but it is NOT the #16 checkvalve. The only thing I can figure is that the flow/leak into the airbox is coming in from the oil vent line on the back of the turbo plenum on the driver's side. Does anyone have a diagram of what happens off of the RIGHT nipple (circled in red) on top of the intermediate piece (commonly referred to as the "plenum")? I can see a hose turn back and then tee into 2 hoses that appear to go around either side of the oil tank. Is there a checkvalve somewhere in that series? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the parts diagrams.

Thanks!

Edit: That check valve is apparently built into the intermediate piece itself...new "plenum" on the way!

Fullthrottleguy is infamous around these parts
Me Too!

I did a boost leak check as described at the inlets of the turbos over the weekend just for fun. I've only had the car a few months and its always ran great and pulled 0.9 to 1.0 bar. Blocked off one turbo inlet and pressurized the other; even with a huge air compressor I couldn't generate more than 1 PSI of pressure. Discovered the #16 check valve was shot and pissing out boost. Plugged it temporarly and did the test again up to 15 PSI.... leaking at the F-pipe. New parts are on thier way... It looks like I have some better throttle response and perhaps a tad more power to look forward to!
