There are currently no Porsche Turbos that can touch a fully modded *****-out Viper TT/Supercharged (or Supra Single, for that matter of fact) in the straight line, save for perhaps Eddie Bello's old 9-sec drag Porsche. It's nothing to be ashamed of, but just the facts... street Vipers and Supras trapping 140+ are not uncommon... and 150+ traps are definitely not unheard of. How many Porsches are trapping 140+ (I think Evo has done it, anyone else)?

Of course, with more development time, Porsches may join that elite upper tier of straight-line speeders... or maybe not.

I obviously love Porsches... but, let's be realistic... modded Turbo vs. modded Viper in the straight line... no contest. Not a big deal... just the facts...

Well wait just a second, They said it was all traction. I heard Shanks viper was spinning tires in 5th and maybe even 6th thats insane. I was just messing around anyway. I know the Turbo is not the god of all cars and im sure a 10 cylinder viper can eat turbos in a long stright line race. I was just joking with you guys because I knew the cargraphic car pulled ahead in whatever race they had I obviously made a mistake on the speeds but none the less its still pretty cool that a Turbo could at least somewhat hold on to a Viper with 900 hp.

Bottom line: It was my mistake I apoligize I should have been more clear on the details of the "race" that wasn't a race.

With two fine cars such as these, why limit them to the drag racing only level? If this is the case, buy a Vette. Just my two cents.

Because most of us cannot just go to a track whenever we want. I always see cars driving that I want to race to some extent, and I doubt i could convince them to follow me to a race track. I think most of these races are just spur of the moment decisions that really arn't that dangerous. These races arn't to see which car is actually better than the other, it's just to have some fun. For the record I never really thought or was trying to convince anyone the Cagraphic Turbo was faster than the Viper I just knew it had pulled on the viper in this one case because the viper lost traction! I had no idea this would spin out of control.

Crash is infamous around these parts
Seeing as how the Viper has an 8-liter (8.3 on the SRT-10) truck engine, I would be extremely surprised to see a modded TT even keep up with a blown Viper. Well, cjv maybe, but his car would probably face reliability issues at those power levels. 3.6 L (ok, 4.0 L if we count Chad) vs. 8.3 L? That´s a no-brainer.

It certainly would, but not on this scale, that´s unless you´re Al Bundy. In that case I take it all back

hello allanlambo,

interesting vid, the busa and viper race... Seems as if the turbo busa boys are all juiced up. Soon Gary Javo (the viper owner) will have the chance to run some VERY powerful turbo Busa's, ridden by guys who can ride and it should be fun to watch. also, if you like bikes., check this out:

Yaaawwwwnnn, I'm getting so tired of the bike guys crying every time they get beat. I guess that one wasn't "VERY" powerful. There are many faster Vipers also. At the end of the day he is still riding his cy-kill and Gary is jamming the tunes in his Viper.
