my buddy has a WRX STi, will my stock tt beat his wrx ?? it sounds pretty bad!! he said he put:

1.) intake
2.) exhaust
3.) blow off valve
4.) stage 3 giac chip

370 whp

can i beat him ??

STI with GIAC chip??? never heard about it.

Our friends have both and the STI with similar mods and we do about 10 runs. You will be almost head to head from 1st to 3rd (of course depends on driver)and get away at 4th.

 

I think it would be very close. Stock TT's dyno about 350whp, whats the weight of the STI?

 

I raced one of those once. He kept up pretty well in first gear but when the turbos came on in second it looked like he had thrown out an anchor. I shot out 4-5 car lengths immediately. I shut it down after second gear. I dont know if his was modded. I had a stage 1.

 

StockTT(non-x50) vs modded STI, 0-60 STI bearly wins, above 60 TT is faster. 5-60mph TT is faster.

 

No new turbo, no fpr's, no nothing, and he's running like 100whp over a stock Sti?

I'm just a little shocked by the numbers.

thats what he claims, i think its bs, because it sounds like theres a bad *** turbo on that thing!! i saw the dyno sheet but i think hes joshing me on the whole stock turbo!!

 

I doubt his power claims, but if they are true, then it will be a driver's rae from 0-40/50, but then you will kill him. ANYTHING from a roll, you will kill him. You have 1.1 L more displacement, 1 more turbo, and extremely better aerodynamics...so you will kill him by buslengths on the highway.

 

I question your friend's horsepower claims as well. He might have 375 crank HP with a chip and exhaust - not 450+.

 

I have an sti, and I doubt he will have 370 to the wheels...

but I will tell you that with those mods he will be very close or ahead....

Seems like there's a lot of bias... There are a few members here that own stis and turbos, let them chime in.

 

first of all i have owned WRX in the past and i have many friends that have the particular 2.5L STi and 2.0L STi (JDM) engine specs. with the mods listed about i can FOR SURE that it is running more like 270 whp... since the stock STi dynos around 230 whp and with those little mods it is no where near that figure... and to get back on topic yes you will take him starting at 3rd gear... the STis are fairly fast 1st 2nd and 3rd but they are piece of crap after that... and even he does have certain mods that he didn't tell you that makes his car 370 whp just get a GIAC chip and he will not see your tail lights any more TRUST ME!

 

and besides the BOV does not do anything to performance... it makes the car sound like a rice rocket anyways just my .20
