Red Beast Dyno Numbers!

Okay,

After much frustration and lack of patience we have some first run numbers.

467 RWHP
480 RWTQ

This is on a Mustang 4 wheel drive dyno, SAE J1349, run in 4th gear on 91 octane fuel.

There is alot more potential here and GIAC will be running different maps over the next couple days. I am sure what the boost level was with this run. As I get more info I will post it.

I have no idea what the real loss factor is he just said to me that a stock X50 on their dyno was less than 350 RWHP.

He also said that it was 40 more than the Stage 4GT that they ran on their dyno??

that would put you the around 500 to the rear wheels on on a 2wd dynoe. My car made the same numbers on Garrets dyno.

Based on those numbers you should be around 567 to the rear wheels when you leave.

Remember this is at approx. 600 flywheel hp, they have to start to play with the boost and programs. I knew the first run would be around 600 at the flywheel. I will let you know more as soon as I know more!

Buddy when my car was dynoed I had a stage 4. Now I have a stage Duane. This is a quote from Matt at meridian who had his car dynoed at Garrets, he has a Stage 4 GT.

Duane, I don't know where Tyson got his info from. The dyno numbers are as follows: 562 H.P. at all four wheels and 593 T.Q. at all four wheels.

Since there is so much speculation about flywheel versus rearwheel numbers I decided to call the company that made the dyno. I talked to a guy at Mustang Dynometer and he said it is impossible to really convert rear wheel to flywheel. There are way too many variables, each car is different, conditions of the test are different, temperature is different etc... He said the only real way to get flywheel hp numbers is to yank the engine out and use an actual engine dyno and that is what the car makers do.

So converting all these numbers really doesn't make any sense. You have to compare rear wheel numbers and even then who knows! The real proof is in the pudding as in line up 2 cars and go head to head! That is all that really matters!

Buddy I agree, I just know you spent a lot of money and you shoud get what you paid for which is 600 to the rear wheels or about 565 to all four wheels.

Duane,
FYI...
Your car may have been dyno'd before Garrett had Mustang come out to calibrate the dyno. The "at the wheels" numbers a very different now. We dyno'd a stage 4 car on the GIAC dyno within the first few weeks of when they purchased it and the car made the kind of numbers your car did.
