Differences between 2001-2005 TT ???
Guys, before anyone flames me and tells me to use the search tool I did try but couldnt find any clear, short answers to these questions.
Im in the market for a TT and based on my budget Im probably going to go with a 996. Coming out of the BMW world there were always minor differences and improvements between model years. There were also problems with the early model year cars that tended to get worked out. So if Im in the market for a 996TT what are the differences as the car evolved from early production 2001 through 2005? Are there any problems areas that Porsche worked out in later production years?
Thanks in advance for your help.

There are no differences that really matter unless you want to argue the chassis change which a lot of people say is false info. The x50 package can easily be outdone for less money with tune and mods ,stereos/navigation are all outdated and could use an upgrade and ceramic brakes are not worth the cost imop. Buy the lowest mileage cleanest car you can afford and if you want certain mods try to find a car with work already done= will save big bucks.

Even though 'some say' not too big of a difference,,,,
If you drove a low mileage 2001 and a low mileage 2005 back to back ,,,you could tell big time and you would do better with a 2005 down the road..
Good Luck..

I've driven them all the 2001 does have a better feel = my only wish is that it had cloth seats with no power accessories except air its too hot around here lol , love the no glove box but a parcel shelf would help with the old school feel. Anything more refined would not be for me . The arguing about years on here is childish as they are all the same other than some very minor items most of which people upgrade in time. I checked out the new models when I got my car serviced and can say honestly would not trade even up if I had to keep it =but that's why they make vanilla and chocolate ice-cream.
+10 on the book!
Thanks for all your responses and links to other threads. It makes sense to get the newest car possible. Based on most posts the major differences from 2002 on are mostly cosmetic unless you are getting a X50 or TS. It also makes sense to buy a car that has been modded, at least if its been done by a proven shop. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a nicely modded variant.
