Now I'm worried
So I flew in Errol McCollum from TPS. He had 2 1/2 days with the car.
We made 700 hp on pump by accident
He had the car drivable on pump but the boost was outa control.
I'm driving the car, gently on pump, to West Palm, Monday. He's gonna take
a week and tune the car. Corey, I don't have to tell you how maddening and
expensive this tuning process is.
Up to this point I've only had cars that run off the factory dme........ cake
walk.
I'm a little frustrated because I wanted to go with external wastegates and
I got talked into leaving the internals intact. I knew it would overwhelm
them!

And thank you for the words of encouragement. I have a lot of confidence
in Errols ability to tune the car. He took it from a spitting sputtering mess
to very drivable and making making 50 more hp on pump then I was making
at peak on race fuel last build. That was with less than 10 hours tuning from
scratch.
I'll drive the car down there on pump but i'll be driving back on corn

We think we have a 9 second car that'll do the 60-130 in low 4s. Not looking
for records anymore just a very fast car that's truly a DD. I just gotta do
something about that cabin noise lol!
I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of your car, Powell and
Tim. We should all have our head examined using our check book to
pioneer this stuff on a decade old platform

But I must say, it's my car and the final decision was mine. Man, I knew
better. Sure there are several cars in the 900 hp range with 3076s running
the Tial internals but this is a smaller wheel and maxed out power. It's
apples and oranges. I knew better!
Live and learn. We're gonna close them off and add some proper Tial 44mm's
Gotta install some buttons for traction control, anti lag and 2 stage launch.
Then it's dyno -tune-drive repeat, until it's right. We're expecting a week.
